Bloody Harvest Event coming October 24th Posted: 21 Oct 2019 07:14 AM PDT Do you feel that chill running up your spine, Vault Hunter? It must be the call of Bloody Harvest, a completely free seasonal event for Borderlands 3 running from October 24 to December 5. Feast your eyes on the ghosts and ghouls you'll be fighting during Bloody Harvest in our new trailer above. In addition to all the Bloody Harvest info that debuted during the first episode of The Borderlands Show, we'd like to share some more details about how this event will function once it's live. To participate, you'll need to have progressed far enough in the story campaign to have unlocked Sanctuary III, which happens early on. While Bloody Harvest is active, you'll notice a peculiar newcomer aboard your ship: Maurice, a surprisingly friendly Saurian who can speak to you via a device of Tannis' own invention. As Borderlands 3 Creative Director Paul Sage explained during The Borderlands Show, "Maurice is your guide to all of [Borderlands 3's] seasonal events." Overview of Bloody Harvest Event! GOING TO HECK When Bloody Harvest begins, Maurice will offer you a repeatable mission that must be completed in order to reach Heck, the spooky setting for Borderlands 3's Bloody Harvest. Maurice kindly asks that you collect a certain amount of Hecktoplasm, an item that drops from slain Haunted enemies. You'll encounter Haunted enemies all over the galaxy during Bloody Harvest; you'll know them by their ghostly green glow. Once you've collected enough Hecktoplasm, Maurice will open a portal to Heck aboard Sanctuary III that will transport you to the creepy domain of Captain Haunt and his undead minions. Once you've managed to stop shaking in your boots at the sheer spookiness of Heck, you'll have to fight your way through an undead army of Maliwan soldiers who are rising from their graves with ambitions of revenge. You'll also encounter freaky fauna including flying, fire-breathing Rakk-o'-Lanterns and wretched Ratch that've gorged themselves on blood. Deep within the depths of Heck lies Captain Haunt, the bony final boss of Bloody Harvest. Vault Hunters & their new outfits COLLECTING NEW GEAR AND COSMETICS Your enemies in Heck have a chance to drop gear that will only be available during Bloody Harvest, including Fearmonger, a new Legendary shotgun that packs a supernatural punch. You might also find Anointed weapons that play off the new Terror mechanic introduced in Bloody Harvest. Haunted enemies can inflict the Terror debuff, which will affect your aim and partially cloud your vision—but with these new Anointed effects, you can turn Terror into a beneficial boost of power. There's also a set of seasonal cosmetic items which won't drop in Heck, but are still exclusive to the Bloody Harvest event. During the event, you have the chance to earn a skin for each of the four Vault Hunters (which also apply to Moze's mech Iron Bear and Fl4K's pets), a seasonal ECHO Device Skin, a shrunken head Weapon Trinket, and finally a ghostly Global Weapon Skin, all of which you can check out in the trailer up top. To unlock these items, you'll need to complete a new set of Challenges that are exclusive to Bloody Harvest. Progress towards completing these Challenges is tracked automatically, and each cosmetic item is unlocked via completing a certain number of these Challenges. We can't wait for you to visit Heck and take on Captain Haunt when Bloody Harvest begins on October 24. Until then, do your best to steel yourself for the terrifying trials that await you. Can we PLEASE get vehicles to scale better on higher difficulties? Posted: 21 Oct 2019 04:39 PM PDT Running through TVHM or any mayhem mode and having your vehicle get destroyed in just a few seconds is really annoying. This has been a problem in every single borderlands game. I don't care if their weapon damage blows, just give them more survivability as the difficulty increases. [link] [comments] |
INFINITE Grenade Zane is back! (actually better this time because of hotfix) Posted: 21 Oct 2019 04:44 PM PDT So some of you guys might know, in the most recent hotfix, Salvation was patched so that grenades no longer gain life steal. That was the glue that held my first Nade Zane build together. Here's the first build for reference: Dead Nade Build Well, I am proud to announce that Infinite Nade Zane is back! And possibly better than before! There's two different builds that are both great to run! Today I'll be showcasing the one with the MOST survivability and will easily clear all 5 rounds in the Slaughter Shaft TVHM Mayhem 3. This build is awesome because it only actually requires 2 pieces of gear to work properly, the Shield, and the Grenade mod. Of course if you're running all optimal legendaries, it makes the build run better, but it's totally a budget build considering you can definitely make it work on the shield and grenade alone. Here's the video for a full breakdown and some gameplay: https://youtu.be/3EEZitaS06I Game Version: 10/22/2019 Category: Mobbing Level: 50 Summary: This build throws nades forever and can even shoot RPG's for an extended amount of time as well! Super fun for those of you who LOVE F*$%ING EXPLOSIONS. Take this build into the slaughter shaft, and you will kill everything. Video: Demolition Man 2.0 (video) - Full in depth build guide and some gameplay, made by me. Drop a like and a sub if you want to :). I worked hard on this build and video! Skills: Demolition Man 2.0 (skills) Required Skills: Pocket Full of Grenades, Distributed Denial, Calm Cool and Collected, Refreshment Just wanted to note: Refreshments totally heals you with your grenades! Because why not :D Gear: Weapons:
Rest are completely up to you, here's what I prefer
Shield:
Class Mod:
Grenade Mod:
Gameplay: YOU WILL FEEL INVINCIBLE. If you LOVE explosions, play this! If not, then don't! Because you will be constantly barraging everything and everyone, RPG's won't be able to touch you because you will ALWAYS have the barrier up. And the boosters will refill you with Rockets and Nades letting you get revenge on Badass Zealots who once LASERED you with RPG's! Credit: Like I said earlier, shout out to SspyR for the Big Boom Blaster plus Distributed Denial, the rest came from my last infinite nade build :) Join the official borderlands discord for some great build advice! Who’s your favorite vault hunter of all time?! Posted: 21 Oct 2019 01:23 PM PDT Who is your favorite vault hunter out of the whole series and why? Curious to see who is the bigger favorite! [link] [comments] |
Vladof Underbarrel Stuff needs a massive buff. Posted: 21 Oct 2019 10:04 PM PDT Today I saw dammit2hell find an anointed Faisor, giving him unlimited ammo for 5 seconds. Even with unlimited ammo allowing him to shoot the underbarrel shotgun for like 25 rounds instead of 6, it still didn't even take a tenth of Graveward's health off. The underbarrel stuff at level 50 is just so garbage. By the time you swap over to it you end up losing damage, and because it takes ages to regenerate even if it were moderately decent you still couldn't use it for crap. The underbarrel stuff needs, like, +100% damage, and to regenerate like twice as fast. As-is, it's absolutely never worth using past about level 20. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Oct 2019 01:08 AM PDT So been playing through the game with a friend, them playing Moze while I run Amara. Not sure whether a bug or intentional, but I don't like how co-op dialogue seems to work. And by that I mean what character speaks when triggering some things. Like sometimes they'd be way ahead of me actually doing the quest and then Amara would be the one to speak even though she's nowhere near there. If it's intentional, than it's another step back from Pre-Sequel. Where at least in TPS, you could control which Vault Hunter spoke usually by either having who you wanted to hear talk enter the area first/talk to NPC's. But in this case it just seems random af. We were both hoping to hear more Moze dialogue than Amara cuz it'd be new for both of us, but how the triggers have gone have just been completely random. I'd like to hope it's a bug but I have my doubts. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Oct 2019 05:30 PM PDT So, I basically beat the entire story mode using mostly cost-effective Q-systems. They were easy to come across, and did a great amount of non-elemental damage, had solid accuracy, low ammo consumption, and large clips. Overall a great gun. Is there a legendary version of these types of guns? Or is there a comparable legendary you would recommend for Q-System fans? [link] [comments] |
Honest Question; What's the point of playing on coopetition? Posted: 22 Oct 2019 01:00 AM PDT Why would you share loot if you could have designated drops and not have loot ninjas stealing all the legendaries? Is there an in written system in place so everyone gets at least some? Don't people just go around nabbing all the good loot and ditching? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Oct 2019 03:04 PM PDT Pretty much title. There are tons of dedicated people out there testing skills, synergies, and reverse engineering damage equations. What might be some not-so-well-known discoveries about our favorite BL3 Vault Hunters? [link] [comments] |
If your lost loot machine doesn't work, switch from coopetition to cooperation Posted: 21 Oct 2019 06:39 AM PDT If everyone is competing for the same loot, the game can't decide who's machine to put it in. At least I suspect that is the problem. You should be able to do this from the main menu by clicking on the gear next to your name if you are the party leader. [link] [comments] |
Just started tvhm, noticed a new enemy type Posted: 22 Oct 2019 01:32 AM PDT "Infected psycho" Maskless psychos drooling blood who have extremely low hp. As in you can kill them in two melee hits. What's the deal with these guys? They are absolute cannon fodder, even more so than a skag pup. [link] [comments] |
Has anyone had the Super Everblast XL shotgun yet? Posted: 21 Oct 2019 07:10 PM PDT So I'm doing a Siren run and am currently at level 21. I found this shotgun and it's a level 18, that when thrown, turns into a MIRV and homes in on 5 enemies. The damage output is terrible (14x10), but the MIRV reload is an absolute beast. So far I can fire 1 shot and then reload and insta-kill everyone around me. 1 reload will kill just about any regular enemy and 2 will kill any badass. It got me thinking about about a build based around it. Do you guys think a high level build based around a gun like this would be viable for higher levels? [link] [comments] |
Why I love this game: When it all comes together Posted: 21 Oct 2019 03:42 PM PDT We've all had these moments. Moment when a build, or a playstyle, comes together perfect with just the right gun. Here's my story: Playing as Zane. Focusing my skill points on damage bonus while moving fast, skills that get me moving fast, and ways to keep me alive while I run around like a coked out idiot. Playing this way isn't very precise. I can't look down the barrel to aim and I can't always get too close so I'm really just "spray and pray" all over the damned place while I dodge and fire. It eats up ammo and reloads eat up time. It's hard to keep the steamroller of running death running. And then I do a fun little side quest on Eden-6 with my Swamp Bro. If you know Chadd, and you've done this quest, you know what the hell I'm talking about. It changed my life. I laughed. I cried. I got the Extreme Hanging Chadd. It's a Rare Pistol. COV. Does decent incendiary damage but it doesn't use up any bullets and it almost never overheats. This one gun completed me. One simple weapon and my playstyle went Epic. I sprinted around burninating virtually everything constantly in a mad panic of constant firey death. The rest of the content of Eden-6 was consumed in my mad dash of fire. I never leveled up so fast in my life. Six levels later I retired that wonderful weapon to my wall. I won't even hand it down to another version of myself, because I'm going to let my future selves enjoy a run with Chadd so they can earn their own version of the gun, even if they don't have the same mad speedy style. For me, the greatest memories happen with happy accidents like that. The sudden discovery of an absolutely perfect weapon. The glorious levels that follow. Then the reluctant retiring of that wonderful gun at the end. [link] [comments] |
Advice on what to do in tvh / mayhem? Posted: 21 Oct 2019 07:28 PM PDT My household just got to this point in the game and we're not really sure what people work on at this point. Open to suggestions. Do you farm bosses or something else? Guardian rank 50 or so. Feeling lost! [link] [comments] |
How do you quickly dispatch the Prismatic Baddass Rakks in Cistern of Slaughter? Posted: 21 Oct 2019 08:50 AM PDT Yesterday in Mayhem 3 Cistern of Slaughter I'm having people quit out over and over again because these flying abortion clinics of doom keep one-shotting us with their swooping attack or their elemental strafing runs. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Oct 2019 05:55 PM PDT While it's fun having the pets, they're not as useful as they could be, and I think this is about more than just their raw damage. Attack CommandMost attack commands just aren't worth the effort of using them. For example, the Eridian Skag has a Singularity as its attack command, but its range seems to only be about a meter, and even within that range, it only inconsistently disables enemies. The other two basically just do AoE damage, which I don't think is what someone should expect of an ability like that on a long cooldown. Typically you can get more damage just continuing to fire your main weapon than by relying on an unreliable and slow move by your pet. With that in mind, it would be nice if the 'Gold-Tier' pets instead had abilities that offered some sort of utility, not just a medium-damage, mediocre attack. For example, the Spiderant could shoot a barrage of sticky webbing that would bind and slow their target for a few seconds before they break free. The Jabber could shoot concussive rounds from his rocket launcher, that stun and send enemies flying. And the Eridian Skag's Singularity effect would be fine if it were just larger and more consistent. At least that way you would have situations where they're useful for more than just their raw damage. Pet Boosts / Barbaric YawpPet bonuses are, unfortunately, virtually unnoticeable. This becomes especially egregious when you consider Barbaric Yawp, which at 5 points Triples the bonus offered by your pet. With the Eridian Skag, that means one point in Barbaric Yawp gives just 2% fire rate and 2% damage; even after the power of the skill was doubled, this is still an inefficient investment compared to other skills; Pack Tactics, for example, gives 5% damage and health to both Fl4k and his pet. If a skill triples an existing bonus and still is barely worth it, is it a problem with the skill? Or is it a problem with what the skill is boosting? I think that Barbaric Yawp is a bandaid for the real problem. On a deeper level, the issue is that the bonuses provided just aren't distinctive. No pet offers a bonus that changes the way you play, because none of the bonuses they give are unique. Most offer things like bonus health, bonus damage, bonus resistance. Consider these alternatives: Spiderant: +10% of health as Armor. Additional armor-health does not impact effects based on health percentage, such as The Power Inside. +1% Health Regen. Eridian Skag: +5% Chance to Crit on any part of an enemy. +5% to shoot a bonus projectile with each shot. Gunslinger Jabber: +5% Movement Speed, +5% chance to add a bullet to the mag on crit. Each different pet now offers a distinct boost that can synergize with other skills and effects in a player's build. Gamma Burst InvulnerabilityWhile I enjoy pets being invincible in Gamma Burst, and it's definitely convenient, I have to feel like it's a bandaid on the deeper problems, which are their bad AI and lack of player control. In a dangerous situation, you cannot order your pet to run to cover, so it doesn't matter how tanky they are, or how much you increase their health, as nothing can tank the insane damage put out by multiple badasses at once. The only solution is to make them completely invulnerable. The problem becomes that all skills dedicated to pet durability and healing become completely superfluous. As long as Gamma Burst is active, I fully expect my pet to be sitting at 1 health, and that seems like poor game design. And if you don't have Gamma Burst, you basically just expect your pet to die, and it's pointless to rez them. At the very least, when Gamma Burst is active, change the pet's healthbar from red to gold, and just make them truly invincible, that way you don't have to deal with your pet instantly dying the moment Gamma Burst ends. A better solution would be to give the player a deeper level of control over their pets, and we already have the tool to do it; the Mark key. Simply make the pet run to a marked location as quickly as possible, and it will give players the ability to control and protect their pets to keep them alive in dangerous situations. Also, pets really need to have their level of responsiveness improved. Yesterday, I ordered my Skag to attack an enemy, and he missed twice before finally hitting the enemy. Some skills require the pet to simply hit an enemy within a short time to maintain stacks, and they're often unable to do it fast enough! If their target moves at all while they're winding up to attack, they're virtually guaranteed to miss. That's frankly embarrassing. If a pet is going to be that incompetent, giving it a healthbar seems very unnecessary, and gives significant risk the pet will be more a hindrance than a help. This is borne out by the way many M3 players just let it die every 30 seconds or so. At the very least, some way to order the pet to stay back and use its ranged attack would be very nice. A little bit of help while alive is still better than nothing while dead, and the player could at least crawl to it for a free rez. ConclusionOverall, I think that the pets have great potential, and could be a lot of fun, but need some help. I recognize that some of these things(like the Pet AI) are more long-term issues, but hopefully the dev team can get working towards a more smooth design for the end-state of the game. Posted: 22 Oct 2019 01:49 AM PDT Unsure if pictures arent allowed on this sub for posts or its a bug(mobile user) but didn't let me upload aside front text. Anyway loving the game so far finished the story first with Moze and have about 2 days and some odd hours and in that time I finally got the platinum trophy. Tried getting it in BL2 but I felt like the grind there would be a lot longer. Playing the crap out of 3 took a look at the list and i knew i had to get it done. Can't wait for the Halloween event and for dlc but still having fun with this game and working on Amara now. [link] [comments] |
Amara melee or phase cast builds? Posted: 21 Oct 2019 03:41 PM PDT I've been having a lot of fun with a phase lock Amara elemental build but I haven't had any success with the phaseslam one or phasecast. I've seen some YouTube videos but I get my ass handed to me if I try melee Amara. Also is phasecast viable? I havent seen any builds for that one. [link] [comments] |
Can't Get Through Agonizer 9000 Boss Fight Posted: 22 Oct 2019 01:24 AM PDT Hey friends! First time BL player here. I'm Lvl 29 and playing on easy mode so some bosses have taken me a few tries but there hasn't been one yet I felt truly "stuck" on... until NOW. I've tried this fight 5-10 times and I keep wiping when the Agonizer's only at half health. I'll be doing fine then get one-hit wiped out by one of the blender knifes (not every time but that's been what's happened at least half the time). Any tips you have for getting through this fight would be greatly appreciated. Best guns to use? Easiest way to avoid those blender knifes? Am I just too low level? Should I just go do side quests for a bit? Thank you so much for taking the time! [link] [comments] |
Why FFS my arrow on the minimap is in the same color as my teammates arrows?! Posted: 22 Oct 2019 01:05 AM PDT This is so annoying, especially when we're all clustered while doing CoS or PG activities.... Can you please fix it already? [link] [comments] |

Is it possible to elementally charge FL4K’s pets? Posted: 21 Oct 2019 07:52 AM PDT In the trailers, it shows FL4K's pets charged with different elements and I was really hoping that you were able to do it in game, but I haven't found a way to do it yet, aside from radiation using gamma burst. Edit: I'm already full level and use the jabber most of the time. Edit: thanks, I know that the spider ant has a scorcher variant, but I was hoping for an ice jabber like the trailer showed [link] [comments] |
Bloody Harvest and Maliwan Takedown Posted: 21 Oct 2019 05:36 PM PDT Soo... I'm excited yes. New gear, new skins, new challenge system to get said skins. I'm very much in love with the amount of content that comes with borderlands. However, I'm not a fan of time based events. I understand gearbox wants to stay fresh and do new things with it's best franchise, but why this? Do you miss out forever? Because, that's exactly how it sounds when you say once the event is over it won't be back. I mean will I grind every character till I have everything for everyone, well yes, but should I have to rush to do so, um... No. Maybe it will be really simple and easy to get said skins and weapons and what not, but then where is the challenge? What's everyones take on this? Like, or no? [link] [comments] |
