And for the capstone FL4K rides around on her back while Butt Stallion pukes out a whole army worth of Tediore guns that run around following you just shooting everything nearby. Ah well, a man can dream.

    DLC Idea [MINOR SPOILERS]

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 11:47 PM PDT

So two DLCs in borderlands History have focused heavily on the psyche of certain characters, "Claptastic Voyage" for Pre sequel and "Assault on Dragon Keep" for BL2 so why not continue the trend and help a certain fan favorite character deal with trauma just like we did for Tiny Tina.

Okay here is the pitch It could be titled

THE MIND OF A PSYCHO! or BRAINCASE BASH! Or something else doesn't matter.

The point is we know Krieg has made progress towards sanity through his relationship with Maya and his isolation but when he discovers Maya's fate it devastates him sending him on a rampage first the vault hunters must track him down, when found he is catatonic among piles of cultist corpses, he is taken aboard sanctuary III where Tanis Reveals her latest project (it's basically an inception device) using this new device powered>! by her siren powers!< ( or vr like that on mission for Vaughn) the vault hunters must enter the mind of on of Pandora's most complicated psychos. The vault hunters must find both of Krieg's dual personalities and help both the man and the psycho come to terms with their loss and their new family on sanctuary, ,(gearbox could confirm or deny the Tiny Tina is Krieg's daughter)

The vault hunters could find "psycho gear" that could span the gamut from utterly useless to overpowered, (no way of telling which until you use them) some could hurt the player or light them on fire or even randomly explode in their hands, we could face twisted enemies that reveal how psychos see the borderlands, maybe even ride a meat bicycle.

Just seems like a fun possibility!!

How about some "eridium tier" SDUs?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 09:46 AM PDT

I see a lot of people irritated with the bank/ inventory and even ammo SDU max. Wouldn't it be great to put all this useless eridium to use and have another 8 upgrades on top of the cash ones that require eridium instead? Even just expanding the ones bought with cash would be great, though I suspect it'd be VERY expensive with the current scaling.

What if instead of eridium adding more tiers, it increased the capacity per upgrade? Spend some eridium on backpack upgrades? Now they increase by 4 each, instead of 3. Spend it on the bank? Now you get 7 instead of 5 per upgrade.

Those are just a couple ideas, but you get the point; there are many ways this could be fixed, and we need something more than what we have.

Game is awesome, but inventory managements... gearbox pls.

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 01:58 AM PDT

First of all just let me state, that i am having a ton of fun with the game. It has it's flaws, but overall it's one of the more pleasing game experiences in the recent years.

BUT... for the love of god please add freaking inventory and bank space!!!!!!! I'm at 3 lvl 50 chars right now each inventory and the bank is compeletly full of legendaries and it's starting to ruin my fun with the game, because I "can't" just pick up weapons to try them out (I am a legendary hoarder unfortunately and just need to keep most of them).

Bank space in my opinion needs to be increased drastically to 200+. It's shared for all chars... I don't want to create mule chars and then have to switch and search between several characters for items.

It would also give money and maybe eridium and elongated use, because especially money has no real purpose anymore after upgrading all SDUs. So you could just give the players an enormous money and eridium dumb with more SDUs for bank and inventory space. The grenades for money farming are in the game already!

Just a humble plea, to release me from my struggles with inventory management after every second boss kill.

Mods, can we get a common complaint sticky?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 08:41 AM PDT

Per title, this place has become 90% the same 4 to 5 posts every single day:

    I need more inventory space!

    The story sucked!

The story sucked but here's how I would make it better!

I farmed x boss 1.7 Million times and never got the drop I wanted!

Borderlands 2 was better, here is why!

I dont see what all the complaining is about, I love this game!

Anyone else have lag on console when navigating menus!?

    End list.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some. Yes, this game has some issues, yes we need to make the devs aware of these issues, but for the love of god can we just get one megathread for all of it?

NPCs need to stop walking in front of things we need to interact with

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 08:04 PM PDT

I've recently maxxed out all my SDUs and the only other use for cash are Moxxi's slot machines. I'm pretty sure we all run to each one as fast as we can until we run out of money... but it gets so irritating when there are like 3 people standing around it/walking in the way in Sanctuary. It's even worse when you accidentally talk to them and they stand still when you meant to interact with the slots instead. Same thing with the customization station, there's always somebody banging into it lol.

I didn't think that I would have this much fun playing Amara.

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 12:04 PM PDT

On my quest to max-level every character, I sort of dreaded the idea of playing as Amara. When I saw her action skills being used in gameplays and trailers, it didn't really interest me as much as FL4K's action skills did. Being the stubborn guy I am, I didn't want to look up any character builds as I wanted to figure out what works best for me. So throughout my gameplay, I just experimented with all the action skills, with Phaseslam + Soul Sap being used in early game to The Eternal Fist + Allure becoming my main squeeze for the most part.

By the time I finished the last story mission, I thought to myself, "There's gotta be something that works better than this." So I respec'd my skill points and spent a good amount of time just sitting there thinking about different combinations, and lemme tell ya, you should've seen the look on my face after I read the description for Stillness of Mind (If Amara targets an enemy with Phasegrasp, enemies near the Grasped target are phaselocked). So I immediately switched over to the red tree and thought to myself, "okay okay... would that work with Ties That Bind (Enemies near the Grasped target are linked, and any damage dealt to a linked target is shared between all other linked targets)?"

I wanted to see how this Ties that Bind + Stillness of Mind combination worked, so I went on over to the Cistern of Slaughter. The moment those enemies spawned, I activated the action skill and BOOM! All of the skags near the one I phasegrasped were all phaselocked. It was a wonderful sight to see, just all of them sitting up there, unable to attack me. It's almost as if I used Za Warudo for a second. The best part about this combination was that I was able to grasp Rakks from a good distance and other rakks would get grasped along with them, though I find it unfortunate that I can't phaselock bloated rakks. You could phaselock all those enemies and take a bit of a breather while your teammates gun them down. I just had so much fun with this setup.

    Goddamn I love this game.

TL;DR: To my Siren peeps, Ties that Bind + Stillness of Mind. Try it. It is a wonderful combination.

Killing people with White Elephant explosions counts as Torgue weapon kills.

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 12:41 PM PDT

This makes it my favorite melee artifact in the game now. You are literally punching people in the face with explosions and making Torgue so happy he sends you free loot, doesn't get much better than that.

I would sellout for a Tiny Tina attack on Dragon Keep 2

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 05:41 PM PDT

As I'm finishing my second run through of BL3 I can't help but feel like I'm beginning to burn out already. All I can think about is the refreshing feeling I got when AoDK came out and would absolutely love a DLC where it's Tina running a new campaign.

    BL2 -> BL3 Direct Comparison (LONG!)

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 12:07 AM PDT

For anyone still considering the game or just being curious and wanting a read, enjoy! (THIS IS A VERY LONG POST)

    1) Story

    BL2

In my opinion, this has been one of my favourite stories to play in a game. I didn't feel like it's just a constant cycle of 'be told what to do' then 'kill stuff' and 'collect x on the side', I was really interested in the lore itself about the planet, the vaults, the monsters and the characters too. I'm not here to spoil anything even though a lot of us know how it goes, but the main story is very rewarding and pleasing at the last mission. At the very beginning you are introduced to the one and only Handsome Jack. We hate him from the start (even though some may also love him) and for anything to give the player both love / hate emotions towards such an asshole, is an achievement definitely. Throughout the campaign we get more and more reason to kill him and I love that the game never stops, from sarcastic little comments to the player along the way 'piss for brains in honour if you' all the way to the horrible things he does. Overall the campaign is great, the story is well varied and gives us reason to carry on and ultimately has a great ending that will satisfy you like nothing else.

    BL3

Never did I think we would have a villain as good as Handsome Jack. While they are not better (again in my opinion) they are on pretty much the same level as Jack. The Calypso Twins. I do hate these guys but at the same time I'm so intrigued to see what they do next. We are introduced to them at the beginning almost fave to face and we see just how powerful they are; that alone makes me want them dead. Then the fact that they are messing with OUR people and just being annoying dicks in general 'heyyyy super fan!' Like nope I am not your super fan but I want you super dead! Anyway, without spoiling too much again the story this time is great. I also feel like while there is the constant threat of the Calypso Twins looming over us as well as mini threats of the bad guy (or girl) we are trying to kill to advance our army to the Twins. For example, Mouthpiece, Katagawa, Aurelia etc. I love the structure of this campaign and the missions are also well varied.

    2) Side Quests

    BL2

Damn the side quests in this game are fun and well varied. There are basic collection quests, mini boss quests all the way to a quest where all you need to do is shoot someone in the face (literally). They are fun, rewarding and interesting to play too. I feel like I'd be missing out on a lot if I didnt complete every side quest more than once, because you never know when a really good piece of loot or a vital piece of dialogue towards the lore will reveal itself.

    BL3

These quests are again well varied and feel rewarding. Most quests give us a cool unique piece of loot that is very helpful towards progression, money which has more of a use this time around and a great amount of XP to help us progress.

    3) UI and Menus

    BL2

The overall menu and character screens were easy to navigate and understand. They were also very responsive which made the game that much more enjoyable. The gear equip screen is easy to understand and use, the badass token system and accompanying challenges are also easy to understand and navigate through. The map is good but compared to BL3, is nothing. It's a 2D top down map which mainly shows your objective, vending machines and fast travel points and that's it. That's all you need really but after seeing the map from BL3 i feel like it misses a lot. The character skill screen is easy to understand and clear to read. Its easy to understand what your skill points are actually going in to. The HUD is clear and easy to understand and isn't too complicated. You know where your mission objective is, where your map is, where your ammo and action skill info is, and none of it clutters your view which is great. Also another thing is that when you receive any XP, it appears at your crosshairs and moves down to your XP bar so I always knew how much I was earning. One notable thing that I prefer to have is an easy to reach tab for a list of missions. This told me exactly where it is, what rewards it gives me and if its worth doing (we all know the dreaded 'trivial' difficulty).

    BL3

The UI is definitely updated for this to be a new game and its a nice and clear design to have on the screen. The gear equip screen is also really nice but a bit slow. Not enough to bother me but it is noticeably different to BL2. Gear like class mods, artifacts and other weapon slots are unlocked a bit later than BL2 also. Now the map, oh boyo (as our good friend Zane would say) this is such a great and simple map design. Moving the map around in 3D is so useful and easy. I can see where I've been and not been, what collectibles I still need and where my quest objective is (although sometimes I struggle to fine the quest marker on the big map) overall I love this map design and it's a massive improvement from BL3. The character skill screen is more in depth but still easy to understand. It's explained pretty well to the player and I personally understand everything about it. So now its up to me to pick the best skills for me to play with. As for the UI itself, it does look very nice and updated and again things are clear. The mini map is still 3D so every now and again a higher up area will get in the way of the mini map but that isn't much of a bother to me. XP, instead of showing up in the middle, accumulates at the bottom just on top of the XP bar, and I do love this too. I love the subtleness but it's clear to see the progress I'm making.

    4) Location Variety

    BL2

In BL2 we are given plenty of 'biomes' to complete quests in, kill in and just enjoy the sight of. From the cold arctic to the hot desert, a plains area, built up city area, Hyperion's different war based building to aid their efforts (like Outwash and the Wildlife Exploitation Preserve). They also have Blight themes areas, a Western town, high tech facilities. Basically, there's loads of different environments. Each one is fun to play in and I constantly can't wait to see what the big bad boss is for the area.

    BL3

Not only do we have multiple locations, now we have multiple planets! These planets do have some variation when it comes to variation but all of them still has the theme of the planet. The planets are breathtaking though. There's our good ol' Pandora where we visit new locations and kill new weird Bandit bosses that actually do think they're all it (Sorry Mouthpiece and Co.) and some of the sights including the un reachable background ones are cool to see. Then we have Promethea, which is massively different to Pandora, a giant city-planet. Everywhere there's high tech roadways and skyscraper's and again this is such a cool thing to see especially when you realise how massive the surroundings are. Next up is Athenas, and while its only small (one area to roam in) its still really beautiful. It's the home world of Siren's and it's a nice little side area to visit. There's always potential to open it up with future content! Eden-6, the swamp planet and home to the Jakobs Corporation. Now I wont spoil much about characters, but we do get to visit the one and only Jakob's Manor which is really cool. Of course it's full of enemies, would it be a Borderlands game if it wasn't? Finally, the planet that I know the least about is Nekrotafeyo. It seems like a blight-like planet and it was home to The Eridians (the creators of the Vaults) so think about what mysteries would be on this planet. Overall there are some really amazing places to explore and it will probably take a long time to explore them all!

    5) Vault Hunter's and Builds

    BL2

In Borderlands 2 we have the original 4 + 2 DLC Vault Hunter's. Axton the Commando. I've played a moderate amount and he is a great overall player. Endgame i hear that he doesn't compete with other characters but nonetheless he is very fun to play as with his turrets that can have longbow technology, or set off a nuke when deployed, or fire rockets, or can duplicate into 2 turrets instead of one (or almost all of the above at the same time). Maya the Siren. She is a great character to play as, her skill lifts enemies up and holds them there but again this can be augmented to deal elemental damage, draw enemies towards to initial explosion or even turn enemies against each other. Maya is very powerful as the team healer, the elemental damage builder or even just an extremely fast mover. Salvador the Gunzerker. One gun? Pfftt, nope, this guy just wants to dual wield any 2 guns (and I mean any 2 guns). He can be extremely powerful in the endgame as he quickly dashes through areas, weakening enemies with slag AND firing at them with guns AND throwing grenades AND regenerating ammo ALL WHILE he regenerates his health. You want a tank? You have one! Zer0 the Assassin. He is very mysterious and very fun to play. While he isnt amazing at the endgame he's definitely fun to get through the game with, especially with his critical hit damage and B0re skill. Anyone remember taking out a certain boss with one shot because said boss had that many hit boxes that B0re just broke them? Wild. Gaige the Mechromancer (DLC). While I didnt play much of her, from what I hear she can be very powerful both with her Death trap robot and Anarchy skills. Do you want to deal unreal amounts of damage? All you have to do is invest in the 'Anarchy' skill and go through the game without manually reloading (pressing the Square/X button) just empty the magazine and let is happen automatically and your damage is gonna stack. Krieg the Psycho (DLC). This guy was my main in the Handsome Collection. Oh boy did he deal some damage. I've never been a melee orientated person but since playing as Krieg that's changed. He is 99% a melee person with his Buzz Axe but oh my word he can deal millions upon billions of damage in one strike if you have the right skills and hit the right places (sorry PyroCaustic Pete your balls must be mashed by now). I loved playing as this guy and he is great fun if you dont mind getting up close and not bothering too much about your guns.

    BL3

So far we have 4 Vault Hunter's in this game and from what we've been told that's how it's staying. We have: Zane the Operative. This guy is my main, no matter what people say about him basically not being broken level good, I just have fun playing with him. I can't wait to try the others but first of all to get through the game I chose Zane and he was fun. He has 3 mini skills to pick from which are the Attack Drone, the Digi Clone and the Barrier (in comparison, Wilhelm's Wolf and Saint but just Wolf, the Doppelgängers digi clone but stationary and Destiny's Titan Barricade but you can shoot through it). These skills did give me a lot of variety in play-style as well as being able to equip up to 2 at once in exchange for my grenades (which I still found a way to get out on the battlefield). Fl4k the Beastmaster. This guy is labelled as a 'Boss Melter' and from builds and videos that I've seen, yes he is. He can send out 'pets' to fight for him and debuff enemies which is very helpful, and can also cloak which (further down the skill tree) ends up amplifying critical damage by a lot. This guy is a tank and I can't wait to play as him. Amara the Siren. She is an overall good player from what I have seen but has a twist on our Siren Powers that we are used to. She has a flurry of Fists (that can be augmented to deal elemental damage) that slams down on the floor to do huge damage. Moze the Gunner. All I really have to say is a great crowd controller with her giant mech called 'Iron Bear' which shoots the guns and fires the rockets for her. Complete tank and also good with bullet based damage and ammo.

    6) DLC

    BL2

I had a lot of fun with all the DLC's in this game. First up is Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty which involves various treasure hunting themed chests and had us fighting a huge vault boss called 'The Leviathan' in the end. This one was fun. Second, Torgue's Campaign of Carnage. A game based DLC where we (the Vault Hunter's) have to compete with other contestants to the death to win the best prizes. We fight against a very young un educated and not ready at all pilot and even a huge mechanical T-Rex. Great fun. Third, Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt. This one to a lot of people wasn't as interesting. I had fun with it but honestly not as much as the others. We are mainly going around the world killing unique creatures while a villain is working against us all the time. Finally, Tiny Tina's assault on Dragon Keep. Oh my god. This is the best expansion I've ever played in any game. It is themed with the Dungeons and Dragons theme and the main characters are narrating every move. My favourite feature is that EVERYTHING is themed as your medieval / fantasy game. From the locations like a Forest with Walking Trees, Crypts and a tall Tower full of Mages and Archers. Not only location though, enemies, loot, vending machines and enemies, they are great! Watch out for some treasure chests though I remember jumping after opening one and being surprised by a mimic chasing after me out of nowhere. Ugh. Finally, which released recently, is Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary. This includes some more Pandora themed locations. We even get to visit the crash site of the Helios station! This pack's theme is that a lot of the land has been consumed by plants and we need to stop the big bad guy to get the Vault Key back. It's very fun to play and even adds a new weapon rarity. After these 5 main packs, there are the Headhunter and Seasonal DLC packs which include themed bosses in a themed are which cover events such as Halloween, Christmas and Thanksgiving. These bosses are a Pumpkin King, Giant Snowman and a Giant Turkey respectively (who would have guessed?) these headhunters were a really fun side thing to play away from the main story. DLC also increased the level cap, ultimately up to 80 which was great for character builds.

    BL3

While we haven't got any DLC yet, we know that we WILL NOT be receiving new characters as stated by Gearbox themselves. They want to add more character variation within the original 4 instead of add new ones. Aside from that, I'm really hoping for new planets, new areas and even headhunter DLC's. Oh and definitely level cap increases.

    Conclusion!

Borderlands 2 and 3 do share a lot. There is a clear upgrade in 3 from 2 as in the visuals, world size and overall feel, but some moments and some features just can't ever replace Borderlands 2. Borderlands 3 is an amazingly fun game so I recommend getting it. It is worth it and definitely has room for expansion!

Thank you so much for the read!

Any purple rarity weapons to keep an eye out for?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 04:35 PM PDT

In the endgame it seems purples drop at an insane rate, but I'm just not sure which ones I should keep my eye on. Some seem great when I use them, but it's really overwhelming the amount of them you actually get.

Is there anything to keep a look out for in regards to purple weapons? Hyperion shotguns seem awesome along with Vladof rifles, but beyond that I have no clue.

And how freaking awesome they are. The variety! The gimmicks! The weird combinations! THE EXPLOOOSSSIIIIOOONNS!

I've heard a ton of talk about like...3 legendary grenades, and that's about it. I absolutely love the variety of grenades in this game. What're your favorite weird/wonderful/bananas non-legendary grenades?

I found a duplicating mirv 3x rubberized tracker. Fun fact...the mirv children track too. AND THEY BOUNCE. REPEATEDLY. Half a dozen grenades bouncing off a badass like little punch balloons of death over and over and over is simply delightful to watch.

As a Moze, I'll just walk into a room, pitch my whole inventory of grenades, and cackle as a school of EXPLOSIVE MOTHERF*CKIN PIRANHA shreds its way through.

    Varkid Evolved During Tyreen Fight

I really wish I took a screen shot of this because honestly it was a wtf moment and I was just not even thinking to take one but if I can replicate it tomorrow I will. I was killing Tyreen and mostly ignoring the fragile varkids, or whatever they are called in that fight, outside of if my kill skill ran out (Kill Skill Zane) and she went into the phase where she flies up from below and does disco lasers on the ground and as soon as she landed a badass shock varkid came crashing past me with its dash skill. I had no clue that those varkids could actually evolve like regular ones.

Suggestions for starting the endgame loot loop

I find the first little bit after hitting 50 on two characters kind of awkward. I start on mayhem 1 and can't quickly graveward, and honestly I really* don't love the idea of grinding bosses, but I think the circles and the trials are more fun. I don't know how they compare in terms of loot.
