Splash damage and Area of Effect damage seem to be the same thing Posted: 16 Oct 2019 01:11 PM PDT This is pretty easy to test. Get something 'torgue' written on it, aim it at the gound, and empty the clip. Figure out how much damage it did. Make sure you drop all your skill points and anything that might make the result variable, like the transformer (40% chance to absorb bullets). I have an artifact with +33% aoe damage and a class mod with +28% splash damage. Using a double-penatrating devastator I get: With neither: 5,900 damage With class mod: 7,600 damage With artifact: 8,000 damage With both: 11,000 damage 5900 * 1.28 * 1.33 = 10,044, which is about right since the measure values above are somewhat rounded. Seems true with grenades and other explosive weapons at this point, but I haven't tested abilities. This is a pretty powerful combination since the two items almost double my damage with flakker, echo, duc, bearcat, and the potent hedgehog rocket launcher I use to farm graveward. I haven't tested with laser-sploder yet. EDIT: laser-spoder seems affected. Its hard to tell, but the dot ticks for about twice as much with the artifact and mod on versus without. Posted: 16 Oct 2019 10:06 AM PDT I think one of the biggest limitations currently Borderlands has is the uniform responses by NPC irrespective of which character you are playing on. This tunnelvisions all playable characters to have similar personalities. For example, when Claptrap blows up the cache so you can acquire a gun. He always says "relax recruit! If things don't blow up here it would be odd". This response tunnelvisions all playable characters to NOT have prior knowledge of the area they are in and question his actions. If there were dynamic responses and let's say Moze loved explosions (as much as Tina). She could say, "OMG!!! That's awesome!! I love being stealth". To which Claptrap could've responded, "I know right!?" Discuss away. Do you think Gearbox is hurting character development by lazy writing / coding and not have dynamic back and forth? Feel free to list what you'd like to see below. I will stay away from balance changes as those have already been alluded to by Gearbox. BUG FIXES -The following cosmetic items are now obtainable in game: NOG Mask, Atlas Classic, Candy Raver, Crimson Rainment, Gilded Rage, "Like, Follow, Obey", Maliwan Mood, Signature Style, Tropic Blunder, Comics Master, Convention Hero, Electronics Master. -Moxxi now mails the class-corresponding The Art of Stealth to the player upon completion of Crimson Radio challenges. -The checklist for Galaxy Completion has been recounted; the maximum completion is now 100%, and bounty missions do not count towards the mission total. -Joining a circle of slaughter group before you have unlocked the location now properly discovers the location (before it would soft lock and the location would stay undiscovered forever) -BALEX no longer recites old mission dialogue when squeezing him. -Several of the Vault Hunter's skills now work as their tooltips describe. -Certain pieces of terrain on the map no longer stay "un-blue" even when walking over them. -The Eridian writing in Tannis' lab no longer needs to be scanned multiple times in order to count for galaxy completion. -Monster Wheels Technical Part is how obtainable. -ALL mission markers are now visible from the map. -General stability and performance improvements, especially in the menus. Or at the very least, do a much better job of pretending they do. We know from lore stuff in the second game that most of the bandits we meet on Pandora are just workers that were abandoned by the big corporations. What if instead of the stupid motivation of become gods/destroy stuff the Calypsos started a bandit revolution to try to take back Pandora and the rest of the galaxy from the corps? Obviously the crimson raiders don't want bandits overrunning the galaxy so we would still have to fight back, but it might present some interesting scenarios where the Twins have a questionably righteous cause but are going about it the wrong way. Is it just me or does Mouthpiece have a large legendary pool Posted: 16 Oct 2019 07:27 PM PDT I finally got to level 50, took a while with real life getting in the way but I decided to farm Mouthpiece to get a Gatling Gun since that seems to be his signature legendary that he drops and I've heard that the Gatling Gun melts enemies in mayhem mode. I will preface this by saying I have put a few guardian tokens into luck. Even with that, I've gotten the following legendary items from Mouthpiece after around 50 times farming him: Gatling Gun Mind Killer × 4 Laser-Sploder Cutsman The Companion The Flood Krakatoa ASMD Arctic Star Helix Flakker Re-Router Shield Back Ham Shield Moze's Burning Rocketeer Class Mod Shock Stone Moxxi's Endowment Tina's Hippity Hopper, Quasar and a legendary homing grenade I didn't like at all That's a large number of varied legendaries I've gotten farming for less than 2 hours combined. Is this the same with other bosses as I haven't farmed anyone else besides Mouthpiece with Moze thus far? [link] [comments] |
My Deluxe Trinkets and Skins vanished. I even had some of the Trinkets equipped and now the slots are just empty. I checked my mail and lost items box just to see if they ended up there somehow, but those were empty. Has Anyone Suggested A "Clue" Style DLC? Posted: 16 Oct 2019 06:39 AM PDT Jakob's mansion is one of my favorite boards in the game and seems like the perfect backdrop for a DLC/event that sees a gathering for a dinner party where dramatic music sting murder most foul is on the menu! I had read somewhere before release that Tiny Tina's DLC from 2 made them really want to explore weird genre combos in what they put out this time around and I think something like that could be neat if done well. For combat we could have Jabber and or robot butlers/staff and really hit the tropes of the genre for lols or whatever, I'm not a game designer. I just think something that showcases a well designed location that also happens to be home to one of the best characters in Wainwright is a slam dunk for something magical. Thoughts? Downvotes? Brick and Moze strong characters with the same problem BL1 and BL3 Posted: 16 Oct 2019 06:25 PM PDT See Brick was considered one of the best characters in bl1 barely behind Lilith because he had 2 stupidly overpowered kill skills that reduced dmg by 50% and increased dmg by 50%, making him an absolute beast for mobbing. Moze's skill tree is more complex but she is without a doubt one of if not THE best mobber in bl3. Now they have the same problem in that their action skills were pretty much useless. It's interesting to see that 2 very strong characters so many years apart share the same problem. Though in Brick's case if you weren't doing melee his action skill didn't benefit you in the slightest, at least auto bear does something. [link] [comments] |

Possible Considerations for a Mose Skill Tree Rework Posted: 16 Oct 2019 09:44 PM PDT Greetings all, as the game has been out for a while not, we've seen that there are definite winners and losers when it comes to who dominates the end game. Unfortunately, as face value, iron bear as an end game skill is drastically underwhelming. While I appreciate myself an excellent mech aesthetic in any game, I was heartbroken to find that even on Mayhem 1, there is a definite power gap in the rest of the end game skills. Here are a few proposed changes I'd enjoy some feedback on. Dakka Bear- Adds a manned turret to the back of Iron Bear. - Easily one of the weakest skills in the skill trees, as the turret does not scale very well, or have great accuracy. The solution? I love the idea of your friends riding along with you, replace Dakka Bear with new turret that is affected by the action skill augments/various other class mods etc that can affect iron bear, give me a reason to actually encourage my teammates to hop inside for a ride inside, maybe give my teammate a buff after iron bear ends and they're still inside the gunner seat. Auto Bear-After Moze exits Iron Bear, it will remain deployed in place for a short time. While Auto Bear remains active, it will target and attack nearby enemies until its duration ends, then it will charge at an enemy and self-destruct. Now I actually like the idea of this! I found it to be minimally useful however, as without heavily investing into skills that boost its durability/fuel, I found that it fell really flat. The solution? This skill has tons of weapons that benefit from anointed weapons etc, so lets play around that! Holding your action skill instead of tapping it, will call Iron Bear to your side without you getting in it, so effectively becoming an extra helping hand in a team fight. You could build it for being tankier as a taunting unit of sorts, or perhaps with a revamp of the skill trees, could pose a serious threat to even mayhem 3 enemies with some tweaking of the numbers. Deadlines-Firing Iron Bear Weapons drains less Fuel.Killing an enemy while Iron Bear is active increases Fuel. This skill has diminishing returns. I understand the need for fuel drain as a mechanic, as it influences the duration and trading damage for extra fuel usage should feel reasonable, right? Not when you have to spend 90% of your fuel to kill one enemy, it just doesn't feel rewarding to do so, nor does it makes sense. The solution?-Ellie has a quest in the game, talking about bio fuel, so lets play around that. Lets say that enemies, when you take this perk, drop bio fuel, and can be picked up to restore a portion of missing fuel, that is equal to its difficulty, say a bigger enemy, would drop a large chunk, and cannon fodder drops little chunks, the argument being effort should equal reward, possibly even leading to a better synergy with Auto Bear if you can freely run and gun while it taunts for you. Bear Fist- The Bear Fist is a pneumatic-driven fist that deals massive damage to a single target at close range.- Of the weapon types Moze can equip, this one has to be one of the most underwhelming for me. I was expecting to feel the weight of punches being made, but it felt like I was slapping somebody with a piece of paper. The solution?- Moze has augments that can readily pull someone with the fist itself, lets work around that! Lets say that tree, while promoting tankiness, could also have a way to boost the mobility of iron bear, perhaps have a grappling augment that can be used, and vertical combat would feel way smoother in the gameplay cycle. Being able to soar through the air and shoot rockets might give flanking with auto bear a little more of a viability that might just reward a play style that encourages you to keep moving. If these changes get some positive feedback, I'm happy to continue elaborating, as Moze remains my favorite character to play, even if that means her mech really needs some love in the long run.
