| Yes, Epic and Steam have crossplay. Posted: 28 May 2020 10:24 AM PDT Borderlands 2 / TPS both got a patch in February this year which added crossplay functionality for PC platforms via SHiFT. EDIT: To those who say "this should be a standard", here's your reminder that Steam normally uses a completely standalone and exclusive online service called Steamworks, and it's up to the developers to allow and develop crossplay between PC storefronts (Not just Epic, but also storefronts like GOG, Origin, UPlay etc...). It's absolutely not a given standard and it's valid to question if there's crossplay. Crossplay between PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch is also not a given for the exact same reason. | Southern Shelf flash freeze and 2/TPS continuity Posted: 28 May 2020 05:17 AM PDT So in BL2 we hear Claptrap say that his mutiny against Flynt was interrupted, or at least followed by the flash freeze, which implies that prior to that, the Southern Shelf wasn't frozen the way it was when we visit it in 2. However, at the end of Claptastic Voyage, we see Claptrap dumped on the Southern Shelf when it is already frozen in the way it was in 2. This would mean that, according to this cutscene, it was already frozen before the flash freeze actually froze everything. Essentially the timeline is meant to be like this:
However the end cutscene of Claptastic Voyage messes that up, since it implies that the Southern Shelf was already frozen before it was meant to be according to dialogue. Not a huge deal, just thought I'd point it out since I'm proud I noticed a small plot inconsistency, so why not flex my galaxy brain (wahey). (Obviously not calling my boy Claptrap a liar) edit: After being pointed out multiple times, I overlooked the possibility it was already frozen and just became more frozen in the flash freeze. Obviously totally possible, but I do still think it's quite likely that it was just a minor continuity error, since the mention of a flash freeze seems rather redundant if the environment wasn't affected much by it, and the fact that TPS was developed by a totally different team etc to 2 means it's not a stretch to assume they just forgot about the flash freeze, which is only mentioned in dialogue a couple of times at the start of the game. I've played this as well on Steam and it worked fine (only switched over for the DLC). So I'm curious if it's something with the servers or if it's me. Well I thought I would start doing dlc early before I beat the main campaign and this boss is crazy hard to me. The empowered Scholar is nuts in terms of difficulty and I died like 50 times. It sucks to when you jump and just miss the rock by a centimeter lol. I honestly feel like this is the hardest boss I've ever fought in a borderlands game. [link] [comments] |

But I'm wondering if any of the minor DLCs referred to as "headhunter" ones are worth the $6 (or whatever they are on PS3 now). | Posted: 28 May 2020 09:21 PM PDT So I'm pretty close to finishing my first runthrough of the main story. I have the Season Pass but haven't touched the DLC yet. I'm somewhat overleveled right now, at 45 when the enemies seem to be hovering around 41-43. Should I do the side quests on the final planet? I'm thinking of doing one of two things: finishing this story run and then doing the DLC with Mayhem active, or doing TVHM and then doing the DLC after that one. Which do you think would work best? After getting it and trying to use it, it looks like it's not working. It tells me to find a BL2 installation, and when I do (Borderlands2.exe), it says it is an invalid file. | Progressing without DLC in BL3? Posted: 28 May 2020 08:08 PM PDT At the moment I'm playing at Mayhem 4 without the DLC (just waiting for discounts before I get them). Are there viable dlc-less builds that would allow me to progress to higher Mayhem levels? Most of the builds I've been seeing these days will always require a piece of gear from the dlc's. And assuming I get the dlc's later, what's the best way to progress past Mayhem 4? Once I step into 5, everyone is just so spongy a room would take 5-10 minutes just to clear. [link] [comments] |

Played BL1 in my teens, and have always wanted to play 2/Pre-Sequel but my computer is so nightmarishly weak it can't run those. The only concern I have is my right joycon has severe downward drift, and I don't want to be stuck looking at my feet all game. What does the right joycon do, can it be rebound/disabled, or can I at least up gyro sensitivity to the max and minimize camera sensitivity so I can aim purely with gyro? [link] [comments] |
