BORDERLANDS 3 PATCH AND HOTFIXES: JULY 23, 2020 Posted: 23 Jul 2020 07:40 AM PDT Today we will release an update for Borderlands 3, which will be live on all platforms by 12:00 PM PST (with the exception of Mac, which is planned to go live on July 30). In this update, we focused on some quality of life update and some player reported concerns. To apply hotfixes, wait at the main menu until you see a sign that says, "Hotfixes Applied"! If you are experiencing any issues or want to provide feedback, please submit a ticket to support.2k.com. NEW QUALITY OF LIFE CHANGESLEGENDARY FIRING MODE FOR FABRICATORThe Fabricator now has an alternate firing mode called Legendary that spawns between 1 to 3 Legendary weapons for 250 Eridium. You will switch into this alternate firing mode like any other weapon and will see purple effects when firing the Fabricator. MISSION REWARDS AVAILABLE IN VETERAN REWARDS VENDING MACHINEPlayers can now purchase previously rewarded mission rewards in the Veteran Rewards Machine just outside of Crazy Earl's door on Sanctuary III. As missions are completed, their rewards are added to the pool and can be purchased using Eridium! LEGENDARY GEAR AVAILABLE IN VENDING MACHINESWe have rebalanced vending machines based on community feedback. Vending machines of all type have a small chance of providing Legendary gear for purchase. We've also removed Uncommon (green) Rarity gear from the Item of the Day pool. CHESTS AND BADASS REWARD ADJUSTMENTSThe quality of rewards found in chests and dropped from Badass enemies have been subtly buffed. Our goal is to make sure chests feel rewarding and exciting, and players feel properly rewarded for defeating difficult enemies. DEDICATED LOOT POOL ADJUSTMENTSThe dedicated loot pools for bosses have been given a dramatic overhaul in hopes of making for a more reliable and satisfying farming experience. Most bosses have two pieces of gear assigned to them, though there are exceptions. To reach this goal, we enabled respawning on the following bosses and reshuffled gear between bosses more evenly.
ANOINTMENT POOL ADJUSTMENTSTo further improve the farming experience, we examined the Anointment pool and determined some weren't engaging the community as we hoped. Given the depth of the pool, we have removed the following 21 Anointments. Any gear that currently has these Anointments will continue to function properly, but gear dropped after this update will no longer roll with these Anointments.
A NOTE ON DROP RATESA few bosses have had some minor tweaks made to improve their looting experience, but we have left most of the drop rates unchanged. With the thinning of the dedicated loot pools and the removal of 21 Anointments, we decided to observe these changes first then make changes as needed in the future. STABILITY
We have adjusted how projectiles from damage events spawn. We found spikes in stability and performance concerns when too many elemental projectiles were spawning during gameplay. This was due to some weapons spawning many more projectiles than game performance recommended. The Recursion, Carrier, Bearcat, Lead Sprinkler, and others will see the effects from this change. We will be monitoring how players will be using these weapons for any possible adjustments in the future. GENERAL
MAYHEM MODE
After making changes to the Scorcher's splat, we wanted to make sure it and other pets still felt fun and capable of competitive amounts of damage in Mayhem, so we buffed pet damage accordingly.
We identified a behavior in our damage pipeline that created opportunities for certain gear and skill combinations to do excessive amounts of damage. We determined these combinations were not aligned with the rest of the game and made a solution that better fits our intended balance goals.

BORDERLANDS 3 ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION BEGINS ON JULY 30! Posted: 23 Jul 2020 08:44 AM PDT It's been nearly a year since Borderlands 3 made its big debut on September 13, 2019, and we've collectively made all kinds of mayhem in the months since launch. Whether you've been with Borderlands 3 from the beginning or you've just started your journey across the stars aboard Sanctuary III, we want to sincerely thank you, the Borderlands community, for all the support, feedback, streams, videos, fan art, cosplay, and so much more. To show our heartfelt appreciation, we'll be kicking off the Borderlands 3 Anniversary Celebration on July 30, bringing you a whopping six weeks of mini-events in anticipation and celebration of Borderlands 3's first birthday. If you've been playing since launch day, some of these events may look familiar—but we've also thrown some new events into the mix to keep you on your toes. A fresh mini-event will be activated via a hotfix every Thursday from July 30 through September 10. We'll remind you of the theme and specifics for each mini-event in that week's hotfix notes, but for now, take a look at what's on the way:
Participating in these free mini-events requires nothing more than a copy of Borderlands 3, though you can also benefit from their effects while playing Bounty of Blood and the other campaign add-ons included in the Season Pass. We're delighted that you're here to help us celebrate, Vault Hunter—thanks for making Borderlands 3 so special! [link] [comments] |
Idea for players to spend eridium Posted: 23 Jul 2020 04:30 PM PDT So as we know, today they got rid of 21 anointments. Well, what have we been asking to spend our eridium on? Anointments! My idea is that gearbox should make an anointments station on Sanctuary where we can spend 100 eridium on an item to change its anointment to any removed anointment. I feel like 100 eridium is a balanced amount as there are a lot of weapons and items in the game to spend eridium on. I read in the comments of YouTube today that some people were upset about the ASE movement buff and the sliding building up a charge that restores shields anointments being removed. This would be a nice way to get old anointments and it wouldn't affect the current farming of guns as this would be exclusive to removed anointments only. What do you guys think? [link] [comments] |
Eridian Fabricator after latest hotfix Posted: 23 Jul 2020 02:55 PM PDT Does anyone else think the Eridian Fabricator got waaay more useful after this update? 1-3 legendaries for 250 eridium—way better than spending it on Earl's cosmetics or anointed weapons. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jul 2020 08:48 PM PDT I stopped playing awhile ago, after putting hundreds of hours into the game. This was partly because I already had the best gear in the game and ran out of things to do, and partly because I was fed up with all of Gearbox's screw ups. But I jumped back on today to check out the new patch and while there are some great improvements and additions, the load times are still way too long to enjoy the grind we all play this game for. It shouldn't take me three, four, five minutes to quit and reenter the game when the actual grind takes less than 10 seconds. This gets exacerbated tenfold when I have to reinvite friends. We spend way too much looking at loading screens and waiting for friends to spawn. Gearbox really, really, really needs to make it possible to respawn bosses with eridium. It's the last thing keeping me from picking up this game and playing casually when I have an afternoon to myself or when friends spam me with invites. Posted: 23 Jul 2020 07:25 PM PDT Ok, gearbox gave those of us with extra eridium just sitting around some good news. But here's a better idea: why not let us spend it to just reroll items? Make it like the grinder from presequel, except you throw in like 100 eridium and an item of your choosing and out pops the same item, just rerolled as if it had just dropped (rolled at current character level too). Or 200-300 to upgrade its mayhem level? I have a lovely MH3 OPQ from the Cartel event that I wouldn't mind dropping 2-3k eridium upgrading to MH10 (and level 60) and possibly getting a good anoint on. Just a thought [link] [comments] |
Do harm now works with Ties that Bind for Amara Posted: 23 Jul 2020 07:24 PM PDT You can get 99 stacks, and it will do 278% damage, way more than what could be done before, and that's with shock damage against flesh. Can go even higher [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jul 2020 09:41 PM PDT My galaxy locations are at 217/223. I have all my planets locations maxed out and I can't tell what I'm missing. I've added them all together and it does equal 217 (including precipice anchor). Do I need to do the eridian proving grounds to unlock the rest? if so that still leaves one location left. A glitch/easter egg that a friend of a friend had Posted: 23 Jul 2020 09:23 PM PDT So according to my friend one of her friends had this glitch or maybe even an easter egg happen to them on borderlands 3. What happened was she logged on to the pc version of the game but her menu was pitch black and that one sound from borderlands 1 that happens when you minimize the game was playing. So I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this. [link] [comments] |
How do I farm Captain Traunt faster? Posted: 23 Jul 2020 09:15 PM PDT Running a Khaos Queen Amara build. I'm on M10. Been using the Hellshock which is okay. I heard the Yellowcake is good but it seems like it's not obtainable anymore because it was during an event. Any other guns that can one shot it? [link] [comments] |
Totally overthinking Tannis' bacon comment here Posted: 23 Jul 2020 04:11 PM PDT I had to quit reading before the conversation ruined the quote for me. [link] [comments] |
does the veterans vendor not have dlc / crew mission rewards??? Posted: 23 Jul 2020 06:29 PM PDT i have been trying for a while now, i get the same 10 things over and over, i have yet to see a single dlc weapon / gear or crew mission reward like?? i rly desperatly want a few things from the dlc missions but i cant replay the entire thing again and again for this shit [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jul 2020 02:00 PM PDT So, I have seen a lot of theories on how to make Mayhem more chaotic, more fun, more balanced, etc. One of the most common requests out there is the ability to select your modifiers instead of rerolling them. Well, I took this idea just a step further. My idea is as follows: Get rid of Mayhem levels altogether, no more M1 - M10. Instead, just create a tiered list of modifiers for players to choose from. Each tier would have their respective buff/ nerf to the game. The balancing could be left up to those with far more experience but simply as an example for each easy modifier enemy hp/ shields/ armor would be increased by 100% and for each hard modifier it would increase by 200%, the same goes for loot drops. So the players are given a list of modifiers and given the freedom to choose any modifiers they want, the more you choose the stronger the enemies, and the more loot you get. If someone wants to run every single easy modifier, go for it. If someone wants insane loot drops and runs with every single modifier, go for it and good luck. This not only would give people the ability to play whatever style they wanted to but it would also allow for all kinds of challenging and wacky new modifiers to be added to the game to get mixed and matched with each other and create some crazy combos. Let me know what you guys think and how you might add to or change this idea. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Jul 2020 05:48 AM PDT Sorry to be a bother, but I'm not sure whats happening with a save file i've downloaded (Dont get at me about grabbing someone elses save, I've done 150+ hours on the PS4) But the file im attempting to use is meant to have a stinger shield, but its been changed into a Stop-Gap, is there a way to fix this? Or even just someone to help me understand whats happening. Thank you in advance! [link] [comments] |
Borderlands 2 Can't Play With Friends Posted: 23 Jul 2020 02:19 PM PDT Why the fuck is this game so god-damn stupid? Me and my friend can literally not play in a game with each-other. I've invited him to my game when it's online friends only, when it's public, when we're using Hamachi with our firewalls disabled, when we're not using Hamachi with our firewalls disabled/enabled, but fuckin' NOTHING. Literally everyone else can join, minutes ago I had my lobby as public and TWO randos joined me, with literally 0 issue. Every single god damn time it says "Could not connect to host". I really just don't understand how this game could not work for one specific person, but literally every single other person who joins me does with 0 issue. Sorry for all the expletives but this fucking game is really pissing me off. [link] [comments] |
What controllers are compatible with the Legendary Collection? Posted: 23 Jul 2020 12:42 PM PDT I mostly want to know if I can play this game with a Gamecube controller or if I'm gonna be forced to use the Joy-Cons/buy a Pro controller. [link] [comments] |
Any way to optimise grinder weapons? Posted: 23 Jul 2020 08:06 AM PDT Trying to get a decent Dahl combat rifle, is there any way to guarantee the odds of getting a certain brand? [link] [comments] |

Help needed with Golden Keys in the Pre-Sequel. Posted: 23 Jul 2020 08:50 AM PDT So I recently set up a Shift account and got 78 golden keys for the pre-sequel and redeemed them on my Xbox 360 with my newly started Athena. I then checked in on my claptrap i transferred over to the Xbox one version to quickly get the That Helped, Right? achievement and he doesn't have any keys available. Research before this post tells me that the keys are tied to my account not the characters, and since I haven't spent any of the 78 keys on Athena yet i should have them available on my xbox one version since its on the same account. Do I have to start a new character on Xbox one or did I miss something? Would transferring Athena from my 360 to one fix the problem? [link] [comments] |
Looking for 3 players for the sub level 13 trophy Posted: 23 Jul 2020 07:03 AM PDT Hey, I've just reached the point in the game where this mission is available. Looking for 3 players to do the mission from start to end to get the trophy. I'm available now or most days UK time from 6pm onwards. Reply or pm if interested. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Borderlands on switch causes drift(?) Posted: 23 Jul 2020 06:58 AM PDT Does anyone else experience drift when playing Borderlands on switch? For awhile my right Joycon always makes me look downwards when I'm not trying to. There doesn't seem to be any on my other games (wolfenstein, Ac, etc) so I'm just curious if anyone else has this problem/ a solution. [link] [comments] |
Borderlands 3 PC question (re: leader and story progress) Posted: 23 Jul 2020 06:48 AM PDT Quick question, I know there are similar questions, but they all seem to be about cross-saves on platforms. Mine is pure PC question. I have a group of three (me and two others) who play BL3 once a week (we've played the original, the PS and BL2 also, but that's unimportant). I started this time as the leader, using my PC to track the progress of the game. I can't make it every week where one of the other two is more likely to. We're not too far into BL3 yet. My question is: is there a way we can switch who leads that week (or even week to week) without losing progress, or restarting the game (and redoing missions)? [link] [comments] |
Best item level you've seen versus your best/favourite weapon item level Posted: 23 Jul 2020 08:43 AM PDT And what's the best tediore. I'm trying to find a good one. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jul 2020 09:54 AM PDT ... WAT ? For the love of god gearbox, why remove shield annointment if you say there's too many useless GUNS annointment (which there is). I used both Movement Speed with DR reduction annointment on regular basis. I'm sure others used the sliding to heal shield one. JUST GIVE US AN ANOINTMENT REROLL SHOP FOR CRYING OUT LOUD !!!!!
