Moze 101: The player's guide to the mid-game

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 03:01 PM PST

    Hey Everyone!

It's your friendly Neighbourhood Moze Main, Nootmad, coming back at you with another essay! Part 2 of my Beginners guide to Moze! If you guys aren't a fan of long text posts, I actually made a video on it that you can find here!, but if text posts are more your speed, here we go! Hope you guys find it useful :D

Now that's out of the way, lets get straight into the post!

side note: I'll be putting links to the lootlemon website (a very useful resource for loot information) so you all can get more information about the drop rates, etc.. about the gear I will discuss soon

    Time for CONTENT

In this writeup, we're gonna go a bit more in depth into a mid game build for you guys to follow while progressing through the middle part of the story, while also covering off some pieces of gear that i think you should keep an eye out for while progressing through the campaign. So without further delay, lets get into it!

So at this stage of the game, i will assume you're anywhere between level 30 and 35 (defeated Graveward) having completed Eden 6 or getting close to it. And this point of the game is pretty huge, as you can now reach capstone skills which can dramatically increase the overall strength of your builds, as well as the ability to equip artifacts too, which can provide a tonne of utility and damage depending on the artifact you choose. Think of artifacts as a pseudo class mod that can be equipped by any character.

    Weapons

    • Kaos - Psychobillies, Ambermire
      • If you've watched previous videos on my channel, you would already know I'm a huge fan of this gun. But if you haven't, that's all good. The Kaos is a dahl assault rifle with high accuracy and fire rate, with a solid damage number to back it up. It can roll in incendiary, shock, cryo and corrosive elements. Now, the Kaos isn't your standard assault rifle. Oh no. Its special effect is that upon killing an enemy, they will explode with a nova that matches the element of your gun, and this nova deals splash damage too which is incredibly useful when fighting enemies that are bunched up. As per standard dahl weapons, the Kaos has 2 firing modes, but I suggest full auto as the primary variant. If you want one for yourself, go beat up the Psychobilies in Ambermire for one.

    • Hornet - Mother of Grogans, Anvil
      • Moving on from the Kaos, we can touch on the Hornet. If you've played Borderlands 2, you'll be well familiar with this gun, but if not, not a worry. The Hornet is a burst fire, corrosive locked dahl pistol that deals splash damage. The hornet has a very solid base damage. With an incredibly high fire rate making it an incredibly solid weapon to use for mobbing. It drops from the Mother of Grogans in The Anvil, good luck!

    • Hellfire - Jabbermogwai, Voracious Canopy
      • Yet another returning weapon from Borderlands 2, the Hellfire is an incendiary locked dahl SMG with high elemental damage chance and damage over time, as well as being able to come in a x2 variant, meaning it gets an extra projectile. Although this may mean that you will chew through ammo faster (since the x2 variant consumes 2 bullets per shot), its not a worry as long as you pace your shots, as redistribution can help a little with ammo regeneration. However, this issue will be easily negated once you get more skill points and passive gear bonuses from artifacts and others, which we'll get into in later. For now, the hellfire is an incredibly solid weapon as the majority of enemies you will be fighting are flesh based (and surprise surprise, the incendiary element does more damage to flesh based targets). The Hellfire can be yours today if you go beat up the Jabbermogwai in Voracious Canopy. Happy hunting!

    • Maggie - Turnkey Tim, Floodmoor Basin
      • And taking up your 4th weapon slot, is the Maggie. A Jakob's masher style revolver with multiple projectiles, and a very solid base damage. Being a Jakob's, its a "fire as fast as you pull the trigger" style affair, so i hope you all have a quick trigger finger. Rounding off its stats is a fairly quick reload speed and a decent magazine size too. In close range, this gun absolutely shreds and should not be underestimated. It drops from Turnkey Tim in Floodmoor Basin. Hope you're ready to go back to prison.

    Artifacts

The next pieces of gear we can talk about are Artifacts. However bear in mind, you will only be able to equip artifacts once you kill Graveward (the Eden 6 Vault Monster). And for all intents and purposes, there's one artifact that far outshines its competition even in endgame level 65 builds, and that is the victory rush artifact. The Victory Rush artifact gives you a solid damage boost when you kill a badass enemy, and even a movement speed bonus too. Combine this with 3 passives that can include weapon damage, magazine size, etc.. And you can start to see why artifacts are so crucial in builds. The Victory Rush relic can be yours by murdering Azalea in Jakob's Estate

    Class Mods

By now you would've been seeing Class Mods drop from enemies or vendors. Class mods are class specific and boost certain skills and have special effects that can create entirely new playstyles depending on the one you equip

For moze. There are 2 Class Mods that I would suggest trying to get now that are used even in endgame builds, Those being the Mindsweeper Class Mod and the Rocketeer Class Mod.

    • Mindsweeper
      • Drops from Archer Rowe in Meridian Metroplex once you complete the Dynasty Diner side quest. And what this class mod does, is have a spawn a micro grenade every time you hit a critical hit. Now this can be caused by grenade crits, or your own crits with your gun. This micro grenade scales from multiple different bonuses like weapon damage, splash damage and elemental damage, and has the potential to create and dish out significant damage on mobs and bosses alike. Highly recommend this class mod if you're playing an infantry style moze build quite a lot.
    • Rocketeer
      • Drops form Tumourhead in Lectra City once you complete the Proof of Wife side quest. The rocketeer class mod is something i would suggest if someone is looking for a sentry style build where you can fight alongside your iron bear. It can also be used to draw aggro away from you as Moze if things get a little hectic, and it also has the upside of Auto Bear being incredibly powerful too, having the capability of melting bosses and mobs combined even in the most difficult endgame content (have a look at the Mad Moze build on my channel if you're curious to see how powerful a rocketeer build can get).

    Levelling tree

    • Rocketeer Variant 1(green tree bias) or Rocketeer Variant 2 (red tree bias)
      • Now this rocketeer variant is a bit scuffed if I'm honest, but auto bear is incredibly powerful in every section of the game (and even endgame) and can dish out a tonne of damage even without significant investment. Getting to Auto Bear alone takes up a lot of points and it can personally be up to you whether you sink the rest of your points in green tree or tree
      • The red tree variant has extra gun dam age through Drowning In Brass and Armoured Infantry whereas the green tree variant has ammo regeneration, a little bit of weapon damage/utility and extra iron bear damage through Dakka Bear, Redistribution and Scrappy
      • Pick your poison y'all
    • Mindsweeper Variant
      • Now typically, if I was making a mindsweeper build, I would absolutely include short fuse, but due to point limitations (and lack of mayhem scaling), short fuse by itself without any other damage skills is incredibly lacklustre at this point in the game, hence why I've decided to go with a green tree/red tree setup
      • Skills like Scorching RPMs, Stoke The Embers, Scrappy, Drowning in Brass and Experimental Munitions all provide elemental and weapon damage bonuses which can further increase our potential damage output.
      • Since most enemies you are fighting at this point in the game are flesh based, being able to boost your incendiary damage is very useful.

    Fin

And that about wraps it up for everything i wanted to cover off in todays post. In the next post, I want to cover off annointments and a higher level build that you build upon to transition straight into endgame content.

And as an added side note, if you made it this far, I just want to thank you guys for reading the whole thing, and i hope you found it useful. I also want to let you know that i actually do a lot of video breakdowns just like on my own YouTube Channel here ( https://www.youtube.com/nootmad ) so feel free to check that out if you're after some up to date Moze builds and general information to improve your game knowledge! Like always, if you have any questions or thoughts, let me know in the comments! I hope you guys found this guide useful and I'll see you guys next post! o/

Where was Zed's last name revealed?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 02:52 PM PST

The wiki says his last name is Blanco, but (seems to) not link to where it got the information. Was it revealed in a comic, or an obscure side quest in BL1? Cause I can't remember ever hearing his last name in-game.

    Help with Eos!

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 09:55 PM PST

I'm trying to play through all Borderlands games as all vault hunters! I'm currently going through 3 as Moze but I abandoned my Willhelm in TPS. I'm stuck on Eos in the Pre-Sequel. I hate that I can't get it with him yet beat Eos with Nisha AND Athena. Is there any way someone would be willing to help me fight this boss?

    Bl2 OP question

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 09:40 PM PST

So I have an OP4 siren that I want to get to 8. I don't really enjoy digistruct peak and in the last area on the 5th run I got swarmed behind cover by surveyor bots and went down. Couldn't get out of cover fast enough to get a second wind so I got pissed and haven't been back. So I've got a lvl 80 commando under another profile and my roommate is gonna co-op. So how will that work? Will the siren not level to 5 until commando catches up? Does it matter who goes up to Tannis to select the mission?

What to do with my lots of many extra guns in BL2?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 03:32 PM PST

Hello vault hunters, psychos, and fellow CL4P-TP units i have a question

I have a lot of guns and certain favorites that do less damage but i want to keep for reasons (i either like how they look or i might need them later) so i put them in the vault but i only have 10 spaces

The ones in my inventory are taking up 20 slots (my current max is 27) and im out of eridium

What should i do with these guns cause i have the feeling im eventually going to have enough guns to put marcus out of business.

Which game should I play with every character first

I tried my hardest playing through the story again I promise!

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 04:19 AM PST

Wanted to make a new character....it failed

The long sitting around doing nothing while Lilith is talking times, the calypso plot being meh at the best of times, Ava, talking to lilith, more sitting around doing nothing while Lilith is talking, more ava

    I couldn't take it anymore.

I've been playing the dlc's so much I forgot the main story existed, can't believe I managed to play through it 6 times

were there any news about the directors cut adjusting the story mode for those who don't give a fl4k about it? Would be great. I like the feel of starting a new character and scrounging around for any loot that gives you a slight boost and carefully allocating skill points etc but bl3's story just makes that nice little process worse than it should be

What is the best way to get an Ogre?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 08:07 AM PST

I'm trying to beat Crawmerax for a video, but it is extremely difficult. I watched a video on someone taking down Crawmerax with an ogre and was wondering what the best Ogre would be and where to find it. Also, I'm playing the original borderlands on pc, not borderlands enhanced. Also also, if you have other tips on how to beat Crawmerax, that would be great!

    Thanks

If I get the season pass now, can I hop in each DLC quickly with a new character?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 05:48 AM PST

Just like they did for the last Borderlands 2 DLC. I think it gave you a level 30 character with random gear just so you could go with it.

I have limited time for borderlands now but I wish I could just play these.

Regarding chronological order of Pre Sequel and BL2.

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 11:06 PM PST

Alright, so I've been thinking about this for about a week now, as I've been getting back into Borderlands as a whole and need some opinions, specifically regarding Borderlands The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 2.

Firstly however, I won't claim to know EVERY detail about the entire timeline of Borderlands, so if there's something that I missed, please let me know! :D

As most of you know, The Pre-Sequel, at least, what you play, happens before Borderlands 2, as it explains how Jack became Handsome Jack and how he got the scar on his face (Still awesome from Lillith BTW!) and how that's present in BL2, as well as Roland being alive, alongside Lillith, in Pre Sequel, but getting killed in Borderlands 2.

I will accept that when Lillith interrogates Athena on Sanctuary happens after BL2 (Again, no Roland) which is fair, that much I know happens after 2.

But what gets me is that there was someone on Twitter who claimed that the entirety of Pre Sequel happened after 2, which Lillth's interogation being one of the reasons, alongside no Roland.

Is that last part true, or is it just a misunderstanding?
