BL3 is the best game for VHs with “assistants” as their skill

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 09:45 AM PDT

I've been playing as FL4K and am currently Lv53, running through DLCs on Normal mode. I've played the games enough to see that BL3 gives the most love to people who enjoy having something like a turret for the skill. I've always gravitated toward those kinds of characters in games when they're available. Roland and Mordecai were a bit off-putting to play as in 1 if we strictly look at their skill (I'm probably biased since my first game was 2). It hurt to try to push through TPS as Wilhelm or Timothy, and a bit as Aurelia. I also struggle a bit in the late game as Axton in 2, less so Gaige due to Anarchy.

FL4K has been an absolute powerhouse for me. I've only died twice. There is still a bit of a challenge, but I don't feel like I'm just setting out a brief distraction and going for as many kills as I can get before my distraction expires. I feel like my pet is a good coop buddy, and my choice of skills and guns gives me tons of chances to land crits compared to any other character I've ever played as.

I'm eager to try out the other VHs based on how FL4K has gone for me.

Edit: Alrighty, when I'm done with 3, I'll redo 1 and TPS as as the characters I mentioned. I tend to stick with the same general setup each time.

I absolutely love the Tiny Tina DLC

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 02:06 PM PDT

I just finished the DLC Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep I absolutely loved it it was a lot of fun the bosses weren't too terribly challenging but they weren't too easy either the end part where Tina has to accept Roland's death though was a little bit sad I still enjoyed it a lot I even got a casual flakker out of the handsome sorcerer kill all in all great DLC looking forward for something just as good in Borderlands 3

Tannis becoming a Siren sounds like fan fiction

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 03:15 PM PDT

I know I'm late, but this event is so absurd. I know its Gearbox's story and they can do whatever they want, but at least make it look like it makes sense!

We have to ''save'' her in the mission, but when we arrive her plot powers just save the day so what was the point of going after her? Also, how did she get Angel her wings? This plot point was just as bad as Ava honestly.

The mission itself was good though just the narrative around it sucked.

    BL1>BL2 IMO

I know this is an unpopular opinoin but i wanna see if people like me who prefer borderlands 1 over 2 exist.

    Borderlands 2 is really fun.

    Posted: 12 Aug 2021 11:02 PM PDT

I remember getting it about January 2019, and I loved it, and I recently started getting back into it. Would anyone say it's the best game in the series? It's the only one I've played, so I can't say.

A realization I wish I had realized sooner.

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 06:43 PM PDT

First I want to say that this realization is by no means something game changing, but more something I feel should be included in anybody's introduction to the game. And yes it is rather simple, but it helped me finally be able to play this game and experience the takedown, mayhem 11, completed builds, and actually experience the full power fantasy for my preferred VH.

This game plays like an ARPG, and I'm stupid for thinking otherwise.

I'm not sure what exactly I was playing this game like before, but I know that the more I played, the more burnt out I got, and the more frustrated I became with each VH, and the more bored I got with the story. I'd never even reach max level before I got too bored to keep playing. I got the most enjoyment out of a speed focused build with Zane, but even that faded. I did every side mission as I leveled (yeah I'm sorry) and that killed me every time I wanted to go to a new VH. Again, I'm not sure WHY I played the game like this when I knew I only played it for the story the very first time I experienced each new story that came out. I've always been a pretty "do it yourself" kind of guy with borderlands 2 and it carried into 3, but with 3, I wanted to reach the "endgame" and never could. I felt stuck so I put the game down for who knows how long.

I come back now after having really dived into ARPGs ( diablo, POE, Grim Dawn) and I realized as I deleted my old characters to start fresh, that I was already seeing this game as something entirely different than I saw it as before. It stopped being a story, or completion type of game to me, and it became more like a shooter ARPG in first person.

I realized that you play the campaigns to level, and just grab whatever does the most damage, or you like best, to keep moving through them and, in the process, unlock future farming spots. You also learn what weapons feel good and what things you can do as the VH you are. You learn the game.

Once you experience and learn the basics, the game let's you try the takedown and hemevorous at lower levels of skill, and I don't think it does it because it thinks you can beat it (I mean hemevorous especially since it warns you'll die lol). It does it because it needs to show the player that regardless of how well or bad you've been doing, this type of activity needs far more coordination (again in the perspective of a beginner) and planning to conquer. Once you learn how to do that, by going back to your farming spots and learning to piece together a rough build, you realize now that all those lootsplosions you got while you killed the bosses the first time, were really indicators of spots with increased loot drops of better quality than mobbing, at least consistency wise. You learn to be more efficient at this point basically.

Then when you really get it, and link together a build that feels like a well oiled machine, you take it back to those things that were "too hard" and beat them. You earn even better loot and now you know what you're looking for, what you liked, what works, and what YOU need to do to peice it all together to kick even more ass. And honestly it's the most fun thing I've experienced in a while.

I'm not saying this game is perfect or the best or anything like that. I'm just saying that once you learn how the game works you can really enjoy watching your VH grow, and you grow with them, and you loot like you wanna loot. It feels super different from ARPGs like the ones I mentioned before, and I think it's super cool and enjoyable, and melds shooting and looting well.

Thanks to anyone who read the whole thing.

    Borderlands 2

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 11:56 AM PDT

I personally feel like this is the best one for me among these four. I been playing since 2012 until this day. Borderlands 1 comes second after that. What do you guys think?

[Spoilers for Jacks Casino] Heart of gold

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 09:45 PM PDT

Not gonna lie. Beat this short side mission in like 6 minutes but it hit me kinda hard, this loader had less then maybe an hour of life left and decided that they just wanted to have a picnic with a friend, their last moments of life of them fading to black and then an explosion just kinda put a damper on the mood..

Granted I was back to blasting bots a minute later but still, kinda hurts

An interesting idea for the devs

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 09:31 PM PDT

I really don't know the actual game's state but i saw some news saying that there wouldn't be enemies with the psycho masc so i was like "Why they just don't put some shit like 'Medieval Psycho' (would be cool tho) or something like that" but then i thought it'd break a bit the atmosphere and then i thought "It'd be cool that there was an enemy looking like a medieval doctor those with the long nosed mascs but adapted to the psycho masc style.

What do u guys think ?

"Gibbed" inventory editor permanently ruined my Borderlands install

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 09:20 PM PDT

Not sure where else to ask for help for this so I figured I'd try here

My game bugged out by not giving me the weapon slot unlocks despite doing missions to get the upgrades but it never applied said upgrades. I looked it up, some others had the same problem some said to use a inventory editor like "Gibbed" to force the weapon slot unlocks. I tried that and it worked.

But now my Borderlands: The Presequel crashes regularly at start up with errors that are different each time. When I can get in game it occasionally likes to crash there as well. Before using the inventory editor it worked fine

I tried deleting all character saves, completely uninstalling the game, wiping out the only remnants of the remaining Borderlands files I could find before reinstalling it and yet the problem persists.

I'm out of ideas. Do I just have to completely reformat Windows at this point to make it work? I'd like to play the game but damn, this inventory editor somehow completely broke my game to the point where even reinstalling doesn't fix it.

Transferring psnow borderlands 1 save data to GotY edition?

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 02:37 PM PDT

I've seen that it's possible to transfer old PS3 saves of Borderlands to PS4's Borderlands GotY edition on PS4 but I can't figure out how to do it from psnow. I want to finish the DLC for this game but I can no longer stand the poor performance, lag, and irritating audio aliasing that happens with streaming Borderlands through psnow so I was going to get the remaster and finish it that way but I don't want to have to start all over again.

Is there a way to do this or am I SoL for playing through the game on psnow up to this point?

    PROP HELP

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 12:54 AM PDT

So, I know the borderlands community is very crafty. I have a prop echo device. And I need ideas on how to make the screen at least functional enough to play "echo logs" or audio files. Without damaging the outside.

    Who to Play? (1, 2, 3)

    Posted: 13 Aug 2021 01:14 PM PDT

Returning player. Haven't played since 3's launch in 2019 but I had an itch to play again so. Here I am.

I dont have friends but i do wanna try to solo the raid bosses because i'm a completionist, so who would be best for that in each game?

in 1, i have always played lilith, but i was too lazy to reply the game and properly level for crawmerax. i assume playing through the game twice is mandatory for crawmerax? is there anything else or? should i play somebody new or just lilith again?

in 2 i play gaige like. exclusively. i adore her kit but i hear she drops off late game. is she viable for solo?

finally in 3 i played fl4k pre nerf. i hear conflicting opinions on all the vault hunters in 3 so i'm genuinely curious.

sorry for being rambly i just don't wanna play the entire game only to learn i gave myself a hard time by not picking strategically.

    thanks in advance!!
