| Random Thoughts on Frame Narration inside of Wonderlands. Posted: 07 Apr 2022 08:05 PM PDT I haven't seen this discussed much, but a thought that has been rolling around in my head is how subtly done the frame narration has been. Just in case anyone is wondering what frame narration is, think of it as a story within a story. Famous examples would be - 1001 Nights, Inception, The Name of the Wind, Final Fantasy VII etc etc. From my perspective there are 3 Frames to the story in Wonderlands. There is the innermost frame, which is you, the Fatemaker playing through the story of the Wonderlands. There is the frame that is one level up, where you (the newbie) are with Valentine Tina and Frette are playing through the game. These two frames, while not really subtle, are balance well and have nice blending. It feels good, and there are even a few fourth wall breaks that are fun. But the REALLY cool part of this frame narration is the outermost frame. I didn't notice it until I thought more about this topic, but it's really cool, and subtle. The outermost frame is the story of how Tina got into Bunker's and Badasses, what her character meant to her. What it meant to have a friend in her first bunker master (he was OBVIOUSLY supposed to be R*****, name mostly taken out for spoilers). It also shows a complex growth in Tina's character from pre Borderlands 2, to now, and then more from after the game is completed. It's fantastic! The outermost frame never loses connection with the middle or innermost frames, and vice versa. I've seen a lot of complaints that the story is too short, or things like that, but I really just wanted to take a step back and look at something that seems simple, but in reality, is not often done this cleanly in video games. | Posted: 07 Apr 2022 04:21 PM PDT TLDR: Assume my shared progress across all characters on profile, that associated data, bank, ranks etc, is all gone and can't be recovered due to bug or save corruption from the surge? Long: Was idle in Jackpot Heist 2nd level doing something irl, power goes out. Come back, settings reset, title screen thinks my character is on "So you want to hear a story" not level 27. Initially I only saw my guardian rank perks were off. Save quit, come back, still missing rank but perks restored. Delete local save and resync with cloud, no change. Character still level 72, money, backpack, quests and achievement progress, ammo sdus, guardian stat boosts, all still intact. But my bank is empty, sdu for bank and lost loot at 0 of x. Fortunately I had put everything rare/useful etc I had grinded for in my backpack so nothing that will cause my to be upset or unable to keep playing. I saw some posts about people losing their bank but they were mostly from launch and not exactly my scenario. If there's anything I'm missing let me know. Thanks [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Apr 2022 09:15 PM PDT So just to put things into perspective, there are 260 Lucky Dice overall, which isn't that much of an issue... on your first character. There are six classes right now and even more coming with DLCs, which means if you want to make one of each.. you'd have to collect more than 1,560 LUCKY DICE across 6+ characters. That has got to be one of the worst decisions I've ever seen Gearbox make for a borderlands game. Having loot luck be so dependent on having most if not all of the dice is one thing, but not making them account-wide discourages people from wanting to make more characters, which is one of the most enjoyable aspects of borderlands games imo. This is a real shame, I'm really digging Wonderlands, was excited about leveling other classes since they seem pretty cool, but I'm not about to go and collect 260 dice 6 times over. | Unable to complete Shift account Posted: 07 Apr 2022 06:40 PM PDT Hi, has anyone encountered this error before? I'm totally unable to complete a Shift account. It says it's already linked to a PSN, and I cannot unlink it. Everytime I try to do anything it just says: Account is not complete. To complete account: " And then there's no text, no error code. Looking in the HTML it's not even populating an error on the page so I know it's not an issue with my browser. I have no idea what might be causing this. I tried resetting it, and I tried linking it to steam, unlinking, and then re-linking PSN. Still no dice. Currently have a ticket open with support, as well Anyone know how to get unstuck here? | Posted: 07 Apr 2022 05:31 PM PDT I heard that the enhanced one has (or had) the save leak issue , and some other Bugs and what not , while the original GOTY doesn't have a load of the stuff I really liked with the "New" one such as buy all ammo refill with a single button , head cosmetics , new Destoryer etc. and some other major quality of life improvements... Sooo I am wondering how's the new one running and should I get that one or the old one , I just got my new pc and want to get all of them again and I saw that BL 1 had two versions. | game crashes when buffmeister drops (ps4) Posted: 07 Apr 2022 02:40 PM PDT I don't know if this is happening to anyone else , but i have been farming for the buffmeister for 2 days already and the in the first time it dropped i got very excited but then i lost totally lost control of my character, the game automatically paused , no text appeared on screen and none of my inputs were working , soon i discovered my ps4 just soft locked, time passed and i got my 2° buffmeister in the chaos chamber, and guess it , the exact same thing happened i want to know if this is happening to any of you guys and if anyone knows if there is a fix for this [link] [comments] |

Like if it has been this easy on this playthrough i wonder what normal would be like! I was wondering what skills I should use I can only go up to level 72. Any input would be nice just want a Gunner build. Please don't say use the other characters Im not trying to use them. | Removing Dialogue in Wonderlands? Posted: 07 Apr 2022 04:29 PM PDT I've seen in borderlands 3 you can remove dialogue by deleting some pakchunk files in the Paks folder, from 3 to 11. Wonderlands has the same folder with the same filenames, but does anyone know which ones specifically are the files to delete to skip just the dialogue? | The weapon that carried me through the late game Posted: 07 Apr 2022 05:50 AM PDT Name: TMP2 Cold Torment Type: Repeating Pistol Damage: 130 Accuracy:: 73.3 Fire rate: 12.0 Magazine size: 18 Other features: 4.1x scope, 40% recoil reduction This beast of a weapon single-handedly carried me through the late game, every enemy was just point and burst. With high damage, high rate of fire and an ammo type with a large pool, this pistol has served me well since the Crimson Fastness. I imagine it will serve me well through the DLC as well. | The Dragon Keep One-Shot Was Super Refreshing Honestly Posted: 07 Apr 2022 11:30 AM PDT The faster progression with levels, enemies dropping seraph crystals and more just made me want a version of bl2 that played like this. The grind to level 80 in normal bl2 was becoming plain and op10 raid bosses were basically unkillable (for me at least, unless I was playing a sal but sal can beat everything so that barely counts) boring so having a lower level cap but still getting good builds going was a great compromise. If GBX is actually releasing an anniversary edition of bl2 I'd want it to copy some of this short adventure's new features and changes [link] [comments] |

No complaints yet, but there's something about the graphic style (also present in BL3) that gives me migraines. I can play other games like Destiny 2 or Fortnite for hours without ever feeling pain, but I can only do about 1 quest on Wonderlands before I need to take a break for my eyes' sake. I didn't have this issue with Borderlands 1, 2 or TPS. I have a strong PC on which I can run high settings (though I lower them to maximize FPS), so I'm thinking it might be some weird disparity with the intended quality? Something like that?
