    Today we [Gearbox] will release a hotfix for Borderlands 3, which will be live on PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and PC by 3:00 PM PST. This hotfix activates the Rare Chest Riches event, addresses drop rates, and implements permanent scaling for Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite! To apply hotfixes, wait at the main menu until you see a sign that says "Hotfixes Applied"! If these hotfixes are not applied, you will not benefit from the changes! If you are experiencing any issues or want to provide feedback, please submit a ticket to http://support.2k.com.

    • Activate the Rare Chest Riches event, running until February 13
    • Increased the chance to receive Legendary loot from red car trunk chests
    • Addressed a reported issue that the player could sometimes rise into the sky with the cannon during the "One Man's Treasure" mission in Moxxi's Heist of The Handsome Jackpot

    TRUE TAKEDOWN MODE

    We've been looking at the feedback we received during the Scaling Event for Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite and have decided to make this Scaled event permanent starting today.

    In a February update, we will include a new switch to re-enable what we call True Takedown Mode. True Takedown Mode will restore the Takedown to the 4-player experience that it launched with for extra difficulty. Once implemented, a lever activating True Takedown Mode will be located on the right side of the door leading out of the airlock at the beginning of the map.

    RARE SPAWNS AND DROP RATES

    Once the Farming Frenzy event is over, we are implementing a permanent change to the Rare Spawns and Drop Rates. After analyzing play patterns, we are permanently increasing the spawn rate for these enemies and have buffed their drop rates and their Anointed chance to be on par with bosses.

    RARE CHEST RICHES EVENT

    When the hotfixes roll out today before 3:00 PM PST, a new event will be activated! During the Rare Chest Riches Event, which runs until February 13 at 8:59am PST, all Rare Chests will drop rare loot at an increased rate, so you're more likely to receive Legendary items any time you open one. This increased drop rate will also apply when you watch a Twitch streamer open a Rare Chest, assuming both of you have the ECHOcast Twitch Extension enabled. Any rewards you score while watching streamers will be waiting for you in your in-game mailbox the next time you play Borderlands 3. In case you haven't done so already, click here for a step-by-step guide to linking your SHiFT and Twitch accounts so you can receive ECHOcast rewards. The Rare Chest Riches event will also apply to the Stadia version of Borderlands 3.

    For those of you that may not know there are 5 rare chest in The Droughts of Pandora that are buffed by the event and can be "save quit" farmed with relative ease quickly. I have provided a link below with screenshots and location descriptions. Happy hunting.

    [BL3] How is cistern of slaughter STILL not fixed? Mission breaking bug makes rakk stuck behind buildings and unreachable. Usually on final wave.

    On the final round of the final wave because theres like a billion bloated rakk that spawn some of them seem to get stuck at spawn points or just fly behind the buildings and get stuck there. This almost always happens on the final wave for me. And I know many others have come across this issue. It essentially renders cistern useless as 8/10 times you cant even finish the mission and get the end rewards and on top of that its less rewarding than slaughter shaft in general. This is a mission breaking bug that renders one out of the three circles of slaughter unbeatable.

    It took me 5 tries to be able to complete the final wave just to get the mission checked off my list. For testing I did it about a dozen times and was only able to complete it 2 or 3 times. Its infuriating spending an hour getting through the first 4 rounds (sometimes dying and having to restart) only to get to the very final wave and not being able to complete it because of a dumb glitch. Im just dumbfounded at the level of incompetence it took to release this game in such a buggy state at launch and then to have these kinds of issues linger even months after release.

    Small Moze tweak that needs to happen sooner rather then later.

    I may be nit picking here, but it seems like Gearbox is starting to listen to community feedback. Personally, I love playing Moze, and the fact that she doesn't get melee bonuses for her Iron Bear melee augments is a tragedy. Without her getting these bonuses, it makes the melee augments completely useless in the endgame. Please Gearbox, allow the Iron Bear melee augments to get melee bonuses, and do 300% damage to frozen enemies.

    What are your thoughts on this?

    Character Levels

    So I read an article from Forbes (of all places). Talking about how many times we have to run through the story with every character. And the editor was comparing it to other game that are account based levels like anthem, where you do the story once and level your account and then each character is the level you are.

    So I got talking with a friend that's been playing since day 1 or BL1 through to Bl3, for his opinion. And he didn't like that idea. Where in the other hand I would like the idea so I could play the other characters more without having to keep doing the story so many times.

    So my question to you of Reddit is what is your opinion.

    Do you like the system we have or the system of 1 level that covers all and can float between all characters more often.

    I'm not sure if this is allowed but I was hoping someone would be willing to help me get the firing range achievement! It seems to be much more doable with 2 people. I'd be very appreciative if someone would be willing to help me with this! If there another place I should ask that might be better for this let me know as well!! Thanks!

    Thoughts on moxxi heist dlc?

    Hey community, haven't played the game in months but I saw the first campaign dlc came out and I wanna hear thoughts on those who played it. How does it compare to the 4 in bl2? Be honest

    The design looked pretty .. stale? Like they reused bunch of old textures. It doesn't even look like a casino.

    Why does my friend have a higher proc chance on playing dirty( Zane perk) than me when we have the same amount of points in it.

    We both have 6/5 in playing dirty but I have extra shot chance 60% while he has 90%. Why is this?

    Hear me out.

    Thousand Cuts? Imagine running back through there seeing trashed loaders from no mans land, and heading back up to the Bunker, which now is ripped apart by bandits.

    Or

    Bloodshot Dam? That was easily my favorite area from all of BL2. I know its been years since the events of BL2 in 3, but just seeing that older stuff, now changed and different, would be amazing.

    Borderlands VR aiming

    Just got borderlands VR now that it supports index, and I'm really enjoying everything except for one major annoyance: the accuracy. For certain guns, it feels like I may as well be holding an actual gun with one hand and firing because bullets just go everywhere. Is there a way around this, other than the obvious grinding for badass points? Thanks!

    Why is the Psycho Stabber even a thing?

    If you don't know about this weapon, The Psycho Stabber is a COV weapon which its special effect makes it have a blade that deals 120% more melee damage. It also has knife projectiles but it's garbage on its own. The most embarrassing thing about this gun is that you can get 120% melee damage on a Linoge, a superior pistol that is also from COV. Why was this weapon even a thing? Atleast the Lob was unique but it was a trash gun as well. The Psycho Stabber is the worst legendary in the game.

    Takedown legendaries?

    So hey guys I'm wondering something. I checked out the legendaries spreadsheet but the only thing that's not on there is which takedown specific legendaries are mayhem 4 only? I read on a forum post on GBX forums that it's actually more valuable to farm on mayhem1 if your looking for takedown specific gear because it limits world drops. Now I'm interested in checking this out for myself, but don't want to waste my time running mayhem1 if most of the legendaries are locked behind mayhem4. If anyone has a list on this information it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    This probably sounds stupid coming from someone who only occasionally plays Borderlands, but how would you get a high-level version of a quest reward item? Or can't you without save editing?

    If the title didn't make sense, let me explain using an example;

    The 'Hand Of Glory' Jakobs assault rifle is a quest reward from the 'The Guns of Reliance' Main Quest in BL3. As a result, the level of the gun is fixed to around the level you are expected to be when you finish the quest, but is there a way to get versions of quest rewards like this to be higher level (level 50 for example), or will they always be rewarded to you at a fixed level and there's no way to alter it aside from using save editors?

    Best/Underated Assault Rifles in BL2

    Last ditch effort to keep the drop rates for good.

    Hello fellow Vault Hunters. Like the title says, we don't want the rates to revert back. Everything I've seen on here, Twitter, and Twitch signals that we are happy with the event, and people who haven't played in a while are doing so.

    Rare Spawns are a joke without this event, and I think a lot of you echo that sentiment. All of us have been calling on GBX to keep these drop rates and spawn rates permanently, AND NOT just an extension. Yes, some rare spawns haven't been affected like some others, but if they just keep the rates the way they are and fix the ones that aren't working, I think we'd be cool with that. And yes, I know they released a mini-hotfix that was supposed to fix those spawns, but after extensive farming, it appears that a lot of players still aren't getting the gear they want(apparently Norman is very stingy with his Cutsmans). And I know that Mayhem Modes effect dedicated drops, but let's face it, we want those juicy Anointments that take our builds above and beyond. And the best chance of getting those juicy Anointments is Mayhem 4. World drop rates are a different subject for a separate post. I'm focusing on keeping the rates the same.

    This is the final day of this farming event, and I'm here to say it shouldn't be. This should be made permanent. It's what the players want. The DLC made the game less stale for about a month, but with how much fun this event has been, if it reverts back, well I guess DLC2 will be the next time a lot of players(including myself) will fire up BL3 again.

    Now is your chance, Vault Hunters. Maybe someone from GBX sees this, maybe they don't. Maybe they've already made up their mind to stop it, or maybe they're trolling us and they'll leave it anyway. In any case, I wanted to get the point across that the players, with these current rates, are happy(stability and matchmaking are for a different convo).

    Gamers, rise up.

    Edit: They're keeping It! And they're letting us choose between 4 player and single player difficulty in the Takedown in a patch next month; single player difficulty until then! I know this post had nothing to do with it, but I've never been so happy to be wrong in assuming they won't implement it. Thanks GBX. You're a champ.

    I call upon my fellow VH’s once more to keep a tradition alive !

    I recently made a post about how BL3 kept crashing and was stopping me and my friend play our traditional run through of the game. The community was such a positive and brilliant help and we fixed the issue!!!

    Now I call upon my fellow VH's once more after sorting my previous issue out which was as simple as updating windows 10.... sorry guys, I was able to play the game but I still received crashes from anywhere between 5mins-2hours.

    Now for my shear love for the games and community I spent the last of my savings to buy a new CPU, Motherboard, SSD, RAM and treated myself to a new pc case.

    My current set-up CPU - Ryzen 5 3600x Motherboard - B450 Tomahawk max GPU - Radeon RX590 RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2x8gb 3000mghz SSD - Samsung 860evo HDD - Toshiba 1tb Case - Fractal Meshify C

    Now my issue now is whenever I load the game it once again crashes my entire PC when it reaches claptrap running across the screen.

    I used a program userbenchmarking to test my set ups performance and my PC crashed whenever it reached testing my GPU which also occurred on my old pc set up. So I tried an old GPU and it could run the test and so I naturally tested Borderlands 3 and to my amazement it loaded up but I had to run it in the lowest graphics possible and still received incredible amounts of screen lag.

    So it obviously seems my gpu is the issue but my question is why did it work on my old system, given it would still be unstable, it'd still load... most of the time. I wonder if it's anything todo with the GPU requiring an 8pin power cable to be inserted into it when I've only got a 6pin inserted into it, reason being my PSU is shut off and only has one 8pin and that was used for the cpu power.

    I'd also like to add I was only using the 6pin power cable in the GPU on my old system and it was able to run, again not well but still what has changed ?

    I guess my question is do you VH's believe these pc crashes are due to my GPU requiring an 8pin power cable and not 6 or do we think it's a faulty GPU ?

    The only way ill be able to test the 8pin is if I get a whole new PSU which currently I haven't the money for.

    Any help or advice or anything will be amazing and hopefully I can join back in the fun soon ! Thank you fellow VH's

    Critical split-screen performance issues (PS4 Pro) on BL3

    Anyone still experiencing some critical playability issues (massive drops in frame rate, characters not even being animated, etc) during split screen on Borderlands 3? Like, the character animations are literally just cardboard cutouts that don't move, but merely stutter across the screen. It would honestly be comical if it weren't so ...not?

    Just fired this game up for the first time last night and woof, it's bad. We're playing on a PS4 Pro and it's damn near unplayable. Any known fixes or just opportunities to commiserate?

    I may be nit picking here, but gearbox is finally starting to listen to the community so I would personally like to see Iron Bear get melee bonuses for the melee augments. They are already weak, and they don't have nearly the range, so the fact that you can't make them better with melee bonuses is a shame.
